It's going to be a magical weekend, and we hope you and your family will join us! Check out the event lineup for this Saturday in Downtown Griffin:
🎄Santa and Mrs. Claus will travel around the City on a fire truck with Griffin Fire-Rescue starting at noon. They will begin at Historic City Hall, 201 East Solomon Street, and then you can track when Santa will arrive in your area by visiting the link on Saturday, http://glympse.com/!griffinfiresantatracker.
🎄The final 2nd Saturday event of the season, Merry & Bright, presented by Hoshizaki America, will take place with shop specials, live music, and festive activities. Citizens are invited to shop, dine, and explore Downtown Griffin. Myrtle's Plot Twist will host Brunch with Santa and Mrs. Claus from noon to 2pm (tickets sold at the door), Griffin Opera House will hold tours throughout the day, Caldwell Cottage will host a Vendor Market starting at noon, The Cotton Mill has 40% off all Christmas decor, Cool-lectables will host Santa from 2pm to 5pm, Buckles and Bows has 25% off all apparel, and Dan Wulf Games will hold a Christmas Party at 5:30pm with 20% off select items. Participating businesses will stay open late for shoppers and provide holiday beverages.
🎄The City of Griffin, GA - Government and InSpalding will host the Hometown Holiday Illuminated Parade, presented by Wellstar Spalding Medical Center. The parade will feature over a hundred participating community groups, local businesses, non-profits, churches, and government organizations. There will be floats, vehicles, golf carts, marching bands, walking groups, and Santa. Griffin First Assembly and St. Matthews Outreach Ministries will be set up with complimentary hot chocolate before the parade. Wellstar will also be set up with giveaways, and the Griffin Opera House will have Mistletoe Sangria, snacks, festive light-up favors, and ticket specials. The parade will begin at 6:30pm on the approved City of Griffin parade route, starting on Solomon Street at 5th Street and continuing to 8th Street and back around to Broad Street. Parts of the parade route will close at 4pm, with other streets at 6pm. Those participating in the parade will begin arriving in their assigned staging area at 4pm, with check-in required by 5:30pm to participate.
