I had the honor of designing and hand-painting the sign for Collective Mind Psychotherapy’s new home on Macomb. 🤍

Megan came to me with a vision and a whole lot of trust. Moody, botanical, a little dark academia… basically my heart in a color palette. 🪴

I felt connected to this project before it even started. Both of us growing up on Grosse Ile, both women entrepreneurs building our brands from the ground up. It already resonated with my passion for helping Michigan brands grow, but this one held something extra special.

From the very beginning, Megan was determined to have the sign handcrafted by a local woodworker, and then designed and hand-painted by a local artist. She’s been working so hard to open this space, and she could’ve taken the easy route and ordered a sign online. But that wouldn’t have captured the true spirit and character of Collective Mind.

In a world where it can feel like AI and Canva are taking over, I’m so grateful for the reminder that people still value handmade art. So much love and good energy went into this project, and it’s just a small glimpse of the healing and beauty that will come out of Collective Mind’s new space.

The sign itself was handcrafted by Tony at Falz Wood & Hammer and I wanted to make sure the natural beauty of the cedar peeked through in the final design.

I’m so proud to be a small part of this story, and so grateful to witness another local business blooming on Macomb.

This month, we were honored to design the branding for the very first Crunch & Chill Summer food drive ☀️

Two Detroit nonprofits teamed up to fight food insecurity for kids, packing totes full of cereal, snacks, and fun surprises.

The whole idea was to prove that food security can be delivered with care and compassion that feels hopeful, uplifting, and genuinely FUN.

Thank you to the Collection of Life Experiences Foundation and Elizabeth’s House for letting us be a small part of your big mission.

Six things I wish someone told me when I started my business:

🤍 A love note for my fellow small business owners 🤍
1. There will never be a right time. If you wait until you’re ready, it’ll never happen.

2. What if it doesn’t work? Okay. But what if it does?

3. Be careful who you tell. Even the people who love you most might try to talk you out of it, not because they want you to fail, but because they want to protect you from disappointment. Their caution is love. It’s also a cage.

4. Dream irrationally big anyway. Be delusional about what’s possible for you.

5. When someone asks how your “little business” is going? How your “fun little hobby” is coming along? Smile. Tune them out. Your little business is paying more of your bills than any of their half-started ideas ever will.

6. Be unreasonably delusional. Believe in yourself, and you just might surprise yourself.

The Grosse Ile Farmers Market on Macomb returns for the 2026 season, with new branding thanks to Fish Camp Design Co. !

Join us every Saturday from May 16th through September 26th, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Macomb Commons (24345 Meridian Rd) for a weekly market rooted in local flavor and community connection.

Each week, the market will feature Community Grown Gardens alongside a rotating mix of vendors offering fresh produce, baked goods, and thoughtfully made artisan products. Whether you’re stopping by for your weekly staples or just easing into your Saturday morning, the market offers something worth coming back for!

📚 Today we’re celebrating Independent Bookstore Day the best way we know how….with a DROP at our favorite island bookshop!

We teamed up with .gi to create a collection of hand-drawn stickers and shirts designed exclusively for them.

Local businesses like The Literary Hideaway are what gives little towns their character. They’re the reason a place feels like home instead of just another zip code.

Shopping small = showing up for the community that shows up for you.

🌸 Small Business Spotlight:

I asked the beautiful brain behind Sugar Island Clothing, Margaret, if she could make something special for my outdoorsy nephew who basically lives in shorts… and she absolutely nailed it. 👏🏻🌲

These might be the softest shorts I’ve ever felt. Like… I’m genuinely a little jealous and wondering if she makes them in adult sizes. 🤣🤣🤣

She even made sure to add pockets, which is obviously incredibly important when you’re a kid collecting random treasures all day.

You can really tell how much care she puts into what she makes. The fabric, the details, everything just feels thoughtful and well made.

If you’re looking for handmade kids clothes, give
some love. Next time you’re about to buy some mass-produced scratchy stuff off Amazon… maybe check out a small maker instead. It makes a difference. 💛
