📚✨ Just passed along this beautiful Globe-Wernicke barrister bookcase to a local collector who will give it a loving new home. We salvaged it from a daughter who inherited it from her lawyer father — it still wears the marks of decades of law books, long hours, and stories untold.
We had planned to refurbish it, but something about its character felt too authentic to erase. The scuffs, the patina, the quiet dignity… this piece earned its history.
Sometimes preservation is more powerful than polish. ⚖️�

We had the opportunity to salvage some items from a home built in 1905. One of those items was this walnut staircase railing and newel post. We can’t help but imagine all the little hands that might have touched this staircase over the years. One of the reasons we love preserving these treasures.
