Four immigrant siblings arrive in America believing they are chasing the American Dream. Instead, they discover a world where survival comes before success. Without Social Security numbers, legal jobs are out of reach, poverty closes every door, and the streets become their only teacher.
Raised in a struggling inner-city neighborhood, each sibling faces impossible choices. The youngest brother becomes another victim of gang violence. The oldest brother is sentenced to 25 years in prison for his role in a murder and is ultimately deported after serving his time. Their sister fights to hold the family together while carrying the weight of loss. Only one brother still has a chance to break the cycle—but every decision could determine whether he escapes or repeats history.
B.E.R.T. is a raw, emotional story about immigration, survival, family, and the harsh reality that sometimes the greatest battle isn’t crossing the border—it’s surviving what comes after.
