In 1972 Leonard Schechter pioneered saving architectural masterpieces being demolished in New York City. The company he created became the inspiration for an entire industry of architectural salvage that today is visible on the pages of magazines like Martha Stewart Living, Architectural Digest, and many others. Schechter popularized and pioneered the use of vintage lighting (think holophane) and

plumbing fixtures (Meyer Sniffen, Mott, and others.) Len still sees a continued value in the original designs and is also making reproductions of impossible to find classics to the highest possible level of quality. Len Schechter has what is known in the trade as "the eye" and the deepest knowledge and understanding of the history of the industrial age.
