🎣 FISHOOON DAILY | TUESDAY TACKLE

The Palomar knot ties a hook or lure to your line. But what joins your braided main line to a fluorocarbon leader?

Try the DOUBLE UNI: overlap the lines, tie a uni knot around each line with the opposite tag end, moisten, then pull the standing lines so the knots meet. Use extra wraps on the braid side and test the finished connection before casting.

🎣 FISHOOON DAILY | MONDAY FISHING NEWS

Fall smallmouth haven't clocked out.

In its October 22 fishing report, Cleveland Metroparks highlighted good resident smallmouth catches on the Rocky River. One angler was finding success downsizing to a tiny, roughly 2-inch stonefly-style bait on a Ned jig. The report also noted a few early steelhead catches and improved shore walleye action at Edgewater.

That's northeast Ohio—not a live report for the Great Miami. But it raises a good question for every river angler: when the bite gets tough, do you go smaller or change spots?

Fishing/Snapping Trip No. 1 — No Fish. Lots of Great Content. 🎣📸

Sunday on the Ohio River, out of the Tanners Creek launch at the Ohio–Indiana–Kentucky border. The fishing didn't cooperate. The camera did.

Fourteen frames from the day: sun shafts under the truss, two herons, the red valve before dawn, mooring cells in the fog, a concrete relic standing in the river, a working tow — and the roller-coaster ghost that got away (a reshoot is already planned).
