Melt the ICE Hat by Paul S Neary I was asked to knit these hats for a few different people and was more than happy to do my small part to support this important cause.
All proceeds from the sale of this pattern go to local Minnesota immigrant aid organizations who will distribute the funds to those impacted by the actions of ICE. Available on Ravelry or

From the designer: In the 1940’s, Norwegians made and wore red pointed hats with a tassel as a form of visual protest against N**i occupation of their country. Within two years, the N**is made these protest hats illegal and punishable by law to wear, make, or distribute.
As purveyors of traditional craft, we felt it appropriate to revisit this design.

Packing cubes…who knew? These little cubes kept me so well organized on a recent trip where I was changing locations almost daily. My previous traveling MO was a messy suitcase with a jumbled tangle of clothes and wasted time looking for necessary items. With just 4 separate cubes, my efficiency factor went way up and my frustration level went way down! I may need to make a few more sizes for the next trip.

New sun hoodie in Magic Yarn Graphene sports enhanced jersey fabric. Ok, so magic might be a bit much, but this IS an incredible high-performance fabric. Graphene is a thin nano material with thermal conductivity and moisture management. Add antimicrobial an SPF 50 and extremely quick drying and you might understand the magic!

I took my jersey out a few weeks ago for a couple of day hikes in the mountains. Hike 1 was warm and humid. The jersey did a great job wicking moisture and keeping me fairly comfortable in the hot conditions. While I did get really sweaty I never felt overheated and the fabric dried very, very quickly.

Hike 2 was cooler and breezier. I still worked up a sweat on the ascent, but stayed comfortable even in the breeze as we hiked the ridge above tree line. Again the fabric dried quickly and I had no need for sunscreen on my covered skin.

Magic fabric? I’m now a believer!

This Oxbow Tote was created from a friend’s father’s US Marines Duffle. When she went to camp as a kid he’d break it out and together they would pack it up with her camp items. We collaborated to find the right style for my friend and to keep some important, sentimental details of the original duffle.

Fun weekend at the Catamount Ultra 25K/50K. No ultra for me as I did the 25k along with my friend Kitty. What a beautiful course and well organized event.

This bag holds a lot! It’s lightweight, water resistant and very functional. I am especially pleased with the interior seam binding that I made from the exterior fabric.
