Every business has a beginning, but not every beginning reveals just how far God will take you.
10 years ago, Fashion Archive TX began in a small, family-owned space off Loop 499 in Harlingen. Nothing fancy at all, nothing big. Just a little space filled with preloved items, a dream, and a willingness to try something new.
That first chapter didn't last very long. We closed our doors and moved into another business as a vendor near Quips and Quotes. Before the pandemic, that chapter also came to an end. Once again, I packed everything up, not knowing exactly what would come next.
But the story wasn't over.
Our next stop was Downtown Harlingen on Jackson Street, where we became a vendor inside someone else's business. We were still building, still learning, and still dreaming.
Then came an opportunity with Harlingen Bazaar! Our application was accepted, and although we were still sharing a building with other businesses, we finally had a little boutique space to call our own!
That's when Fashion Archive began to transform. We transitioned from preloved treasures to brand-new boutique styles. Our Paparazzi jewelry business, which had grown an amazing following during the pandemic, continued to flourish. We created a beautiful little boutique within the Bazaar, and within months, we were already expanding!
One wall came down, giving us more room. A few months later, Spirit-Led Designs had its own space, filled with Christian-inspired gifts, custom shirts, tumblers, and creations made with faith and purpose.
And after a year at Harlingen Bazaar, God opened another door we had only dreamed about... OUR VERY OWN BRICK-AND-MORTAR STORE! 🥹💕
I remember walking into that building with so many ideas and so much uncertainty. We didn't start by using the entire space. Just like 10 years earlier, we started small, using only the front portion of the store.
And little by little, another wall came down. Then another area opened. More possibilities began to unfold.
Today, Fashion Archive TX isn't just a boutique. It's a place where other small businesses are finding opportunities to grow, where friendships are formed, prayers are shared, faith is encouraged, and community comes together.
But what you don't always see behind the pretty displays, cute clothes, and decorated walls is the journey it took to get here.
It hasn't always been easy. It hasn't always been fun. There have been sacrifices, financial challenges, disappointments, exhausting days, and moments when I've questioned whether I could keep going.
There have been days when I've looked around and thought, "Lord, is this it? Is this where the story of the Archive ends?"
And somehow, someway, God reminds me...
"Nope. Not today. I'm not finished yet." 🙌
I've seen His hand in the opportunities, in the people He has brought through our doors, in the unexpected provision, and even in the seasons when I couldn't understand why things were happening the way they were.
Sometimes His hand was opening doors. Sometimes it was closing them. Sometimes it was pushing me forward when I wanted to stop. And other times, I believe He was simply holding me up when I didn't have the strength to stand on my own.
And today, when I look back at where we started, I don't just see a business that grew.
I see 10 years of prayers, perseverance, sacrifices, lessons, tears, determination, and God's grace.
I'm so thankful for those who have been part of this journey since day one. The ones who remember our little preloved shop, who followed us from location to location, who supported our jewelry business, who celebrated every expansion, and who continue to believe in what we're building.
And I'm just as thankful for those who recently walked into the "new" Fashion Archive and decided to become part of our story. You may not know where we started, but you're now part of where we're going. 💕
And I still have dreams! BIG ones!
I dream of one day seeing the entire building become Fashion Archive TX. A larger space for ministry gatherings, Bible studies, prayer nights, and fellowship. Maybe even a little food business in the back serving cute meals and creating another reason for people to gather. Maybe more entrepreneurs who love the Lord, have a passion for their calling, and simply need someone to give them an opportunity.
I don't know exactly what the next chapter looks like. I don't know how or when those dreams will happen.
But 10 years ago, I didn't know I'd be standing where I am today either.
And that's what makes this journey so special.
I'm still learning. I'm still growing. I'm still praying. And yes, there are still days when I wonder how we're going to make it through another season.
But my prayer is that God continues to remove the hindrances, open the right doors, provide what is needed, and bless not only Fashion Archive TX but every person and small business that becomes part of it.
I pray that the Archive continues to be more than a place to shop. That it becomes a place where people feel welcomed, encouraged, loved, and reminded that God can do something beautiful with even the smallest beginnings.
Because Fashion Archive TX was never just about selling clothes. Somewhere along the journey, I realized that this business was also becoming a ministry.❤️
So here's to 10 years of beginnings, endings, rebuilding, expanding, and taking leaps of faith.
And here's to praying that this isn't anywhere near the final chapter.
I don't know everything God has written for the Archive, but I pray there are many more pages left to turn.
