I seldom complain on my business page. It’s not really what people are here to hear, and frankly, I don’t usually enjoy reading complaint posts myself.
But this particular issue has me STEAMED.
Facebook is rolling out a paid subscription program that limits how many links a business page can share unless you pay up. If I want to regularly share links with you to my own website, I’d need to pay $50 per month — and that is just for eight monthly links.
Not gonna lie: that feels like highway robbery, and I’m pretty darn irritated about it.
Small business owners already spend our days navigating roadblocks, rising costs, taxes, processing fees, advertising costs, insurance, hidden fees, ever-changing algorithms, and all sorts of other hurdles. There always seems to be another expense, another form, another fee, or another hand reaching into the till. Apparently Facebook looked at all of that and thought, you know what these people need? Another monthly fee.
So, I’m asking you a favor.
Please consider visiting my website directly at:

I’d post a clickable link, but well... I’ve already posted two links this month, and we can’t have Becky getting ahead, now can we?
When you visit the website, you’ll see a pop-up where you can sign up for Bee Balm’s email newsletter. I promise not to bombard your inbox, but it’s becoming increasingly clear that small businesses like mine need ways to stay connected with our customers that don’t depend entirely on social media platforms changing the rules whenever they please.
I’ll still be here posting lots of photos, new arrivals, vintage finds, outfits and general Bee Balm nonsense every day — until they start charging me for that, too. 🙃
But I think I’m reading the writing on the wall here. It’s time to make sure I have more than one way to stay connected with all of you.
Thanks for reading my rant. And more importantly, thank you for following along, shopping small, sharing my posts, visiting the store, checking out the website, and supporting this weird little business of mine.
You are all very, very appreciated. 💜
