As much as I love the fact that Jill (Jill Zielinski] ) always has me knit samples in my size, it makes the knit that much harder to part with 😢.

I spent the last few weeks working on this Diamond Lake sample for North Bay Fiber] and the pattern is live today šŸŽ‰

If you haven’t seen what Jill Zielinski] has been up to with her yarn line North Bay Fiber] it’s time to pop over and check it out. Breed specific yarn and such a dream to work with! Knitting samples has been providing me my knitting fix during this busy season of life and what a privilege it has been to work with this amazingly lofty fiber šŸ˜

If you happen to be local, Jill will be at for a trunk show THIS WEEKEND with all of her beautiful yarn and designs- make sure to stop by.

Now that it’s truly officially fall, I can move on to share some autumn knitting. This sweater has been completed and was a true joy to knit.

My fiber bestie Jill ( ) is introducing her very own yarn line . I had the honor of knitting up the bobble version of her new ā€œCorklineā€ pattern in this new yarn. It was my favorite type of yarn to work with- light and lofty, and full of colorwork stitch definition capabilities.

If you happen to be at this weekend, take a stroll through Barn 31 to Booth 32 to get a chance to purchase this gorgeous new yarn and see the completed sweater knit up.

Now that it’s officially a new season, I suppose it’s time to share a little update. Still knitting when I can- very much enjoyed working on this sweater during the warm season (Coofle by Kate Davies), and looking forward to wearing it now that sweater weather is upon us!

And finally, this one, from the boy who was feeling unmotivated. We decided to keep the colors simple and talked a lot about repeating patterns-picking a shape and making a line of them.

Loving how this turned out. Sam’s teacher moved up to third grade this year, so he has the same teacher he had last year. This is her second year getting a hat, I’m thinking she’ll love it 🄰

Elise designed this one for her teacher. Her teacher’s husband is also a teacher in Hartland schools, and they happen to have two sons in Hartland schools. Elise knew exactly what she wanted this hat to look like, and I think it was a great choice for this Hartland family!

All three hats were complete and sent to school with the kids this morning- let’s hope they get into the teacher’s hands šŸ¤žšŸ¤£.

First up is the hat for Clara’s teacher, I’ve shown some glimpses- we here are all loving the unicorn hat! So much so that I started another to surprise Clara with on Christmas morning šŸ¤—.

Who knows, I may need on myself šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Who wants to hang out this weekend? has organized a Zoom series called ā€œInside the Designer’s Headā€ and I’ll be the guest designer this Saturday, June 27 at 3 PM!

I love this idea- being able to connect with knitters from all over the world through these challenging times- a special thanks to and all the other yarn shops involved for coordinating. I’d love to see you (virtually) on Saturday!

March 12, 2020- that’s when I wound this ball of yarn. We had a late winter trip planned up north with friends along with hopes of starting in on a new sweater design.

And then, on our drive up, our world (along with EVERYONE else’s) dramatically changed. I spent the weekend engrossed in the news and whatever clinical studies I could get my hands on. My normal go-to forms of relaxation (knitting+audiobook=ā¤ļø) was cast aside as my focus couldn’t stay on either of these activities.

Then, after being home with the kids full time for almost 5 years, I went back to work in a totally new field. Add to that the home-schooling of three elementary aged kids and potty training a toddler and life got a bit overwhelming.

We are settling into a new routine, but still spending a lot of time reading, learning, and growing. There has been so much going on in this world- practicing showing grace to myself and others.

Putting this out here as accountability- planning on knitting a swatch by the end of the week. Little goals, baby steps (but it feels hard considering I haven’t knit a stitch in three months 😳). Cheer me on? Thanks šŸ¤—

Oh, hey. I kind of disappeared for a bit there. I’m still here, laying low, knitting not very much šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø. Sometimes when life changes so much it’s hard to find time for those little bits of relaxation. My two usual go-to’s: knitting while listening to audiobooks, have just not been happening. It’s hard to focus on these things when my my seems to be everywhere these days- anyone else?

It was such a treat to visit this fourth generation family Mill and to meet and learn from their knowledgeable staff.

Check out my stories for more in depth coverage of the wool and retail shop. And if you are anywhere in the area, it’s definitely worth a day trip!
