Hey everyone! We hope and pray this finds you all doing well!! Sunday June 14th is Flag Day! The flag was officially adopted on June 14, 1777. Let's all fly our flags and show our patriotism, respect for the stars and stripes! Our flag always flies here at our house.
The heat and humidity have arrived. Everyone please be careful if your job is outside or you are working in your yard and gardens. Drink lots of water and electrolytes. Don't forget about your sweet animals in this heat!!

Happy Friday everyone! We hope and pray this finds you all doing well! Our hummingbirds are busy at their feeders, flowers are blooming and the pastures were cut for the hay this week. Blackberries on the fencerows will be ready to pick soon!
Let's not forget that tomorrow June 06 is D-Day. We want to remember and honor all the military branches who stormed the beaches at Normandy France. We have had the honor of walking those sacred beaches and cemeteries in Normandy, it's a very moving experience.

Hello everyone!
Can you believe it's the last weekend of May?! Goodbye May and Hello June!

The rain has been such a blessing.
Now to mow the yard, get in the garden, throw some mulch and tackle all the never ending outside projects.

Hello everyone!
We hope and pray this post finds you all doing great! We sure are happy to see this rain; we definitely need it!
As Memorial Day May 25th approaches, let us remember the true meaning of this day. We honor the brave men and women who gave their all in service to our country and the freedoms we enjoy every day.
Since owning the store, we have had the privilege of meeting family members of some of these heroes. It has been an honor to hear their stories and learn about the loved ones they lost.
Over the years, we have sewn patches on jackets and vests that represent memorial rides, events, and activities held to honor fallen service members and support their families. Those moments remind us that the sacrifice of our military heroes is never forgotten.
Smitty has been working in the store, let's go take a look at a couple of photos.

Hey everyone! We hope and pray this finds you all doing well.
May is always a busy time of year! There are graduations, parties, festivals, yard sales, vacations and the long Memorial Day weekend is just around the corner!
Let's take a look at what Smitty has been working on in the store.

We show the soles and heels being removed.
Next photo shows that Smitty has cut the new soles for the boots.
Dream Pairs boots are ready to go and have their new soles and heels.
A pair of Johnston & Murphy boots that came in and needed the leather conditioned.
We conditioned the boots with BlackRock Leather 'N' Rich conditioner. What a difference it made in the boots.

The irises are beautiful along the fencerows, blackberries are loaded with blooms, and the honeysuckle are beginning to show their blooms. You might find a photo of an iris in this post. We sure hope Mother Nature blesses us with some much-needed rain! It's a dust bowl around here!!
We hope you all enjoyed the post from last week. We showed the process of fixing a boot from the insole to heels.

Hello everyone! What a storm that was that went through the area last night. We did lose power here for a few hours. We hope and pray you all are doing well. We have lots of iris blooming along our fencerows now. Our hummingbird friends are back at their feeders.
Smitty has been busy in the store.
We gave you a sneak peek of a pair of boots Smitty has been working on. Let's go see most of the steps, we did miss getting photos after sewing the soles on and attaching the heels. There is a photo of the completed pair. These boots are very special and sentimental to our customer.
1. The sole was worn all the way to the inside of the boot. Smitty cut a new pattern for the insole.
2. Boot uppers with no soles.
3. Here the gemming and welts have been sewn on. A new piece of cork has been cut for between the insole and new leather sole. It is waiting for the glue to cure to attach. The rand is waiting to be placed at the heel area.
4. Glue has been applied to the new in sole and the metal shank is back in the middle of the new insole. The heel rand has been placed back where the new heel will be attached. .
5. The new welt from the topside of the boot. Be sure and notice how the uppers look in the last photo. They will have been conditioned.
6. New full leather sole has been glued and nailed onto the foot bed.
7. Beginning to apply the color to the sole before the heel is attached. He would then go to the out sole machine and stitch around the soles. Next would be to attach the new heels. Complete the coloring on the soles.
8. Finished pair of boots with new full insole, new gemming, new welts, full leather soles, and new heels. We also conditioned these with Black Rock Leather 'N' Rich conditioner. Our customer was very pleased with their finished boots.
