Turn Ordinary Pine Cones Into Sunflowers That Never Wilt! 🌻

What You Need

Seven or eight dry pine cones, yellow and dark brown acrylic paint, small paintbrushes, green floral wire or sturdy artificial flower stems, green floral tape, artificial leaves, a hot glue gun, scissors, and a decorative vase or pitcher.

How to Make It

🌻 1. Prepare the pine cones. Clean and completely dry several open pine cones. Choose ones with well separated scales that can resemble sunflower petals when viewed from the wider end.
🎨 2. Paint the sunflowers. Apply golden yellow acrylic paint to the outer scales of each pine cone, leaving the central area dark brown. Add brown paint to the center if needed, then let everything dry completely.
🌿 3. Create the stems. Secure each painted pine cone to a sturdy green floral stem using hot glue. Wrap the attachment with green floral tape and add artificial leaves.
💐 4. Arrange the bouquet. Place the finished flowers in a ceramic pitcher or vase, adjusting their heights and angles to create a natural sunflower arrangement.
🏡 5. Display your creation. Enjoy your handmade sunflower bouquet as a cheerful decoration for your kitchen, dining table, or entryway, without watering or maintenance.
