Vintage re-designs will always be my FAVORITE thing to do! The possibilities are endless! It doesn’t matter that it doesn’t fit, it doesn’t matter the color or condition, all that matters is that you have a little faith & imagination and we can create something beautiful together. We took SunMi’s mom’s wedding dress and recreated it into the most perfect reception dress for her wedding. Thank you SunMi for trusting me with such a special gown. ❤️

Love a good ole’ before and after! 😍

Ashley’s dress needed the full work up, a hem, a bustle, resizing and a couple of customizations.
The main issue was the fit of the bodice. The dress was too big and because of that it offered no support in the chest. The back was also too big and showed a little too much skin for her liking. I resized the bodice and took up the straps quite a bit to offer better chest support. I also made the straps wider for more coverage.
For the back I removed the gaping and created extensions that gave more coverage but still kept the keyhole look.
For the sleeves, she had a vision! She wanted a puff sleeve, but not too puffy, that offered plenty of upper arm coverage, but not too long. It took a couple of try’s, but we finally settled upon this look and it was exactly what she was wanting.
The finishing touches were a custom oversized bow permanently attached to the back of the dress. And of course we topped it off with a beautiful ballroom bustle to keep the train off of the ground for the rest of the night.

Now that’s a transformation 😍

The main issue with Liza’s gown was that it needed to be sized down about 3 sizes. In addition to that, I also raised the waistline, added new stronger boning to the bodice, removed the glitter layer from the skirt, shortened the length of the dress, and added a bustle to the train. The finishing touch was creating custom off the shoulder detachable sleeves that completely re-vamped the neckline. This gown required more than the average number of fittings, but it was worth every second.

😍😍😍 Before & After

Michelle’s dress needed to be re-sized, both up and down. It would not zip fully at the top, so that needed to be made larger, but the hips of the dress were very large, so we needed to size those down. Along with that, the hem was shortened about 5”. The finishing touch was adding that beautifully sculpted bustle to the train. The end result was stunning!! This dress was a show stopper for sure!

Before & After ✨

Carissa’s dress needed the full work up. It was way too big (about three sizes, to be exact), there was no structure or support in the bust area, it was way too long, it needed a bustle added, and we needed to axe the stretched out illusion neckline.

The end result was fantastic! The support Carissa now had in her chest was exactly what she needed. Most brides come in thinking they need a strapless bra to fix the problem, but I almost always vote against it. My job is to tailor the gown so perfectly that it fits and supports you the way a bra would. We are a no-bra zone over here! 🚫 If tailored correctly, a bra is not necessary.

Bustle of the 𝖶̶𝖾̶𝖾̶𝗄̶ MONTH 😍🙌🏽✨

Katelyn’s train required a 21 point bustle to keep it off the grown and the weight evenly distributed throughout the night. It was probably one of the biggest trains I’ve ever worked with, but it turned out beautifully! The alterations also included taking in the hips, hemming the length by about six inches, and tailoring her gloves.

Katelyn came to me after I altered her sister’s wedding dress four years ago, there’s no greater compliment than when families continue to trust me with their special gowns. ❤️

Nothing like a good ole' size down 😍

When a gown needs this much adjusting, it’s less of a simple alteration and more of a full reconstruction. Taking in at the sides or back just isn't enough. It's reconstructing the bust, bringing it in at the sides and back, shortening the torso, sleeves and length of the dress and finishing it all off with the perfect bustle to lift the train for the reception.
