Start where you’re at by doing what you can.

Don’t overthink it.šŸ˜‰

Stop trying to look impressive with your jump rope. šŸ˜…

You don’t need the craziest tricks, fastest combos or most complicated footwork to be good at jumping rope.

Master the basics. Build your rhythm. Stay consistent.

The impressive stuff will come naturally.

Don’t jump for everyone watching, jump for you. 🪢

šŸ’”One of the secret benefits that come from jumping rope, BETTER BALANCE!

Think jump rope is bad for your knees and joints? Think again. šŸ‘€

Jump rope doesn’t have to mean pounding your knees, ankles and feet. With the right technique, staying light on your feet and keeping your jumps low makes a huge difference.

Don’t let this common jump rope myth stop you from getting started.

I break this fine in my latest YouTube video comment the word YOUTUBE and I’ll send you the video

The double under isn’t just about jumping higher and spinning the rope faster.šŸ¤”

It exposes how well you can control your body.

If you start in one spot and finish somewhere else, you’re drifting instead of moving straight up and down.

One thing that can help:
🪢engage your core🪢

Think about keeping your body stacked and controlled so you launch and land in roughly the same spot.

Less traveling.
More control.
Cleaner double unders.

Save this and check where you land the next time you jump.

You’re having a hard time with consecutive double unders, I get it.ā¤µļø

You need undeniable control of entering, executing, and exiting 1 double under before you start tying them together.

Get good at doing one and going back to a basic or boxer step.

From there, progress to doing 2, and returning to a basic or boxer step.

Getting lost in ā€œXā€ amount of consecutive double unders is a recipe for disaster.

Your body might be able to keep going, but your brain gets excited by the multiples… next thing you know, you have no idea how to exit and you hit and miss.

šŸ’”You would never think it, it’s easy to overlook, but there’s a tremendous amount of mental composure in this drill.

Get great at 1, then 2, then 3, and so on.

Have a goal and a plan.

Enter, execute, exit.

Same approach applies for 1, 10, 20, etc.

Jumping rope is only about doing tricks and fancy stuff if you want it to be about that.

Jumping rope is more than just cardio, it’s a skill.

You’re coordinating your hands and feet while controlling posture, rhythm, timing, and repeated landings.

When you’re new, you’re probably not very efficient at doing any of those

That’s normal!

Start where you are, doing the best you can.

A few times a week, a few minutes per session.

🧱Brick by brick 🧱

Do what you can, start where you can.
Call this exercise whatever you want, the comment section is FILLED with names…but the benefits remain the same and that’s what this is about. šŸ˜‰

🫵DON’T LET MISTAKES FOOL YOU

There’s something I need you to understand.

Getting good doesn’t mean you stop messing up.

I still trip.

I still step on the rope.

I still make mistakes.

Sometimes I’ll get a minute into jumping, catch the rope on my foot…

and start over.

That’s jumping rope.

The difference is that I don’t interpret the mistake as evidence that I’m bad at it.

The rope stopped.

I start again.

That’s it.

A beginner trips and thinks:

ā€œI suck at this.ā€

Someone who’s been doing it for years trips and thinks:

ā€œWhatever.ā€

And starts jumping again.

That mental shift is part of getting good too.

Make the mistake, learn from it, and move on.
