My recent workload has been substantial (just how I like it. However, I'm pleased to share some quilts I've completed. A meaningful project was the army quilt I made for my son and gifted him during his short leave. The countdown to his holiday leave has begun. I'm eager to spend quality time with him during the holiday season.

This set was for a dad/grandpa who passed away. The daughter got his quilt of shirts and each grandkid got a pillow, again the entire front of the quilt was made from his clothing (no added fabric) and the pillows were all from his blanket t-shirts, and when I seen he was a veteran I knew the pillows needed to be flags. Added the airforce stitching to quilt them together.

This was a fun memory quilt, the guy only had 4 tshirt, the rest were button ups or polos. But every inch of the quilt top was made out of his clothing. Even the grey and black sashing pieces. The backing and binding of course was purchased fabric. And this pillow was all his brothers clothing. He lost his brother shortly after his wife lost her dad. He gifted this quilt and pillow to his mom for Mother’s Day.

I always try to use every inch of the clothing I can for memory quilts. As we want to be able to wrap ourself up in that person we loved. These are my favorite types of quilts to make.
