New Sunday Hours through December!
Central Pennsylvania is filled with unique antique shops and boutiques with lots of character in repurposed buildings. Many of these aged buildings have a story to tell behind the brick walls which is refreshing to read about, then to go see for yourself.
Cinderella's Attic Treasures – located at 62 West Main Street in Palmyra Pennsylvania occupies one of these legacy and repurposed buildings and is now a one stop shop for Antiques, Boutique items, Collectibles and Gifts.
For close to fifty years, the Cinderella Shop occupied the same landmark building as a custom dress shop that helped many women from across the world prepare for their special wedding day and other events.
At one time, this bustling dress shop employed over fourteen seamstresses and thirty-six sales personnel all to give customers very personal attention.
62 West Main Street is building many of us glace at while sitting at the red light in downtown Palmyra. It’s more than a just another building with a large eye catching display window ~ it catches our curiosity.
Few know this but it was also home to a booming bakery in the early 1900’s. Started by John Shiner, it was owned and operated as Baum’s Eagle Bakery by the E.M. Baum family beginning in 1911. Baum’s produced large volumes of Bread and Pies long before the larger names we all know. Supported by a small fleet of horse and buggy delivery wagons, the bakery was a staple business in Palmyra and supplied a large area of customers. It’s also been said that Milton Hershey himself ~ sold the bakery sugar.
In September 2023, the building was rebranded to Cinderella’s Attic Treasures by longtime building owner Annette Gerhart, who also operated the Cinderella Shop.
Once inside this new retail business, visitors will notice a beautifully appointed and restored interior which includes many original chandeliers from the Hershey Coco Inn. The wood floors remain intact and if you look closely you can see concrete blocks in the floor where furnaces once stood and vintage dressing rooms with dated light fixtures all adding to the customer experience.
Cinderella’s Attic Treasures is open Wednesday through Friday from 11:00 am to 5:00 p.m. Saturday from 10:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 👉🏻 now Sunday Noon to 4 pm. (Through December)
