Our beautiful bride Caitlyn had a vision for classic, romantic look for her wedding day.

She asked us about adding a 3/4 lace sleeve to her wedding dress. Luckily the gown had a perfect wide-set strap so we could use that as our set-in point (This is important when adding sleeves. See our last post for the visual) She brought us the lace and we supplied the know-how.

Then, add in the dreamy mantilla veil from and voila!

Our bride Caitlyn came in needing alterations in a quick turnaround and was hopeful that we could work a little magic to maker her a custom sleeve. We were so thrilled with how this style came out for her and we can't wait to share her "real bride" story this weekend!

Did you catch our contribution to The The Guardian US ?!

The landscape of bridal alterations is constantly evolving, and recently, Melissa had the honor of speaking with The Guardian about a huge shift we’re seeing across the industry: the rise of GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and their impact on wedding dress fittings.

When a bride’s body changes rapidly between buying her dress and her final fitting, standard alterations suddenly turn into major structural re-engineering. We talked about how we navigate these dramatic sizing shifts, the technical limits of taking a gown down multiple sizes, and how our team keeps brides feeling calm, confident, and supported through it all.

As master tailors, our job isn’t just to change a dress size, it’s to preserve the original integrity, architecture, and proportions of the gown, no matter what shape or size you are on your wedding day.

Today, we are sharing a 5-second trick that will completely save your bridesmaids' sanity at the reception: The bustle loop twist (not a dance move).

When we configure a "traditional" or "American" style bustle, we typically use clear flat buttons or shanked covered buttons. Then there are crochet loops that associate with each pickup point. Sometimes, (and especially when the affixed to the waist) there is a risk of your loops popping up and off- especially during a night of dancing, sitting, dipping and all the things.

The Pro-Tip: Don't just loop it, twist it.

When you grab the crochet loop, turn it the fabric the wrong way, put it on the button, and twist it back face out properly, creating a twist in the loop that locks on the button. Think of it forming a tight "figure-eight". That tiny twist creates the perfect amount of counter-tension, locking the loop securely against the base of the button and preventing it from bopping up and undoing your carefully crafted bustle.

Our lovely bride shared the sweetest note after her big day: “It truly was a dream experience.”

For Natalie, we worked with when we experienced some fit issues early on. Their design team worked quickly to get everything situated for us and our beautiful bride and just look at the results!

When you step into our studio, we don't just look at hemlines and bustles. We look at the big picture: calming the wedding planning nerves, obsessing over the structural engineering of your gown, and ensuring you feel completely supported (literally and figuratively) from your very first appointment.
