Dear Westside Swap friends and family,
Westside Swap n' Play has been a dream of mine since I first heard about a swap and play in 2016 when I was a nanny for a family with twins in NE Portland. I have always been an entrepreneur and knew I wanted my own business one day. I knew I wanted to raise a family of my own and be able to provide an income for myself and my family while being home with my kids.
With the excitement of starting a business I was thrilled when Westside Swap n' Play came together and I started to see its final stages. I did a grand opening in June 2019 and were open for business just 8 months before covid-19 shut us down temporarily.
With the rise and fall of covid and our business model being very unique in the way that families were able to come and go with a key fob, no one is there to maintain social distancing and proper sanitation. We've spoken to the city of Hillsboro and unfortunately are unable to reopen until the threat of covid is gone. With that being said, I have appreciated and have been so grateful and blessed to get to know each and every one of our members. They have all played a role in helping my dream come true and allowing a clean and safe place for families to let their kids play.
Unfortunately though, I have gone over every single option and have made the very difficult decision to permanently close Westside Swap n' Play. I have been closed since March and with covid not going away it's the best option for my future. It deeply saddens me, as my business was just starting to grow. With the financial burden of a business that was and will remain closed until further notice it just didn't make sense to continue to fight a battle with no end in sight. This isn't goodbye though, it's I'll see you soon. We thank you for being a part of my dream and we look forward to seeing many of you in the future as we hope to one day rebuild.
Stay safe and support local businesses.
Thank you, Tara Seibt
