One of the hardest things I’ve had to learn as a mom is that loving my children and leading my children aren’t always going to feel like the same thing.

After losing Q, we became a team in survival mode.

We cried together.
We prayed together.
We carried each other.
And truthfully, there were days when my kids carried me more than I ever wanted them to have to.

But eventually, God started showing me that surviving and thriving are two very different things. (Crazy Busy Mama)

My children didn’t need me to have all the answers.

They didn’t need me to stop grieving.

They didn’t need a mom who never made a mistake.

They needed their mom to lead again.

And lately, that has meant navigating something I never imagined I would have to navigate as their mother: moving forward, opening my heart again, and figuring out what dating after losing their dad looks like for our family.

There have been questions.
There have been tears.
There have been really beautiful conversations and really hard ones.

And I’ve learned that I can honor my children’s feelings without asking them to carry decisions that God entrusted to me as their mom. (Crazy Busy Mama)

I don’t need to lead perfectly.

I just need to keep seeking Jesus and be willing to take the next faithful step.

I wrote about this part of our story—the part people don’t always see—and why I’ve realized this really isn’t a story about dating at all.

It’s a story about motherhood, grief, faith, and learning to lead your family toward hope again. šŸ¤
