A box turtle only roams one mile in its entire life. If it's removed from its area, it will roam aimlessly for the rest of its life trying to find its way home. Please do not remove turtles and don't take them home as pets. If a turtle is in the road, you can help by moving it directly across the street in the direction it was heading. 🐢
