Sexual Minorities Archives Never Again the Silence The SMA is a repository of national and international importance to LGBTQI people and our allies.

A grassroots, multimedia collection housed in archivist Ben Power Alwin's residence in Holyoke, Massachusetts, the SMA includes more than 12,000 books, 800 periodical titles with 17,000 individual issues, thousands of subject files, personal collections, organizational collections, oral histories, independent research and academic papers, audio and video cassettes, CDs, DVDs, slideshows, vinyl rec

ord collection, print and e-newsletters, posters, art, comic books, t-shirts, buttons, photographs, correspondence, and ephemera. In 2016, the SMA added The Leslie Feinberg Library, 1,000+ books, pamphlets, and other materials that were the personal research library of the late transgender author and activist. Leslie donated hir books to the SMA where they will be accessible to diverse LGBTQI people at no charge in a grassroots community queer archive.
