Let’s talk about it, Girlfriend. 🤍
It’s amazing what spending intentional time with your husband can do for your soul.
This trip did something for me.
Being in the company of my Hunny refreshed me. I laughed. I rested. I felt loved. I felt beautiful. My confidence was strengthened, and honestly, my love tank got FILLED. ❤️
And somewhere in the middle of all of that, I started seeing me a little differently too.
I hadn’t taken a full-on mirror selfie in I don’t even know how long. 😂 But this week, I did.
And I’m glad I did.
Because when I looked at the picture, instead of immediately looking for something I wished were different, I found myself appreciating the woman looking back at me.
This body has lived some LIFE.
It has carried babies. Served people. Worked hard. Worshipped. Traveled. Loved my husband. Raised our girls. Walked through difficult seasons and danced through some really beautiful ones.
And today, I’m grateful for her.
There’s something here that also makes me think about Jesus, our Bridegroom.
My husband isn’t my source. Jesus is. But there are moments in a healthy covenant love that gives us a beautiful glimpse of what it means to be seen, known, enjoyed, and loved.
And if spending a few uninterrupted days with my husband can refresh something inside of me, how much more does spending uninterrupted time in the presence of my Bridegroom change the way I see myself?
Maybe sometimes we don’t need another makeover or workout routine. 🤔
Maybe we need to spend more time in the presence of the One who loves us and allow His love to remind us who we are. (Acts 3:19)
So yes, Girlfriend…
Take the trip.
Spend time with your husband.
Let him love on you.
Take the picture.
And appreciate the woman looking back at you.
I’m grateful for the life I live.
But even more than that, I’m grateful for the life I have received. 🤍
