Original rare signed oil painting by Edward Bledsoe: The self-taught Louisiana folk artist and painter Edward Bledsoe passed away in 1999. He died after bravely rescuing a friend from a house fire.Before his passing, he spent most of his adult life in prison where he taught himself to paint by observing other artists. His vibrant, self-taught works are often characterized by their vivid depictions of cotton fields and regional folk scenes.
