Today is the Fifth Anniversary of our neighbor Earth Goods Natural Foods under the ownership of Melanie Morrow after The Gericke's (who founded the store) retired. We are so grateful to have Melanie (and her girls) next door and are so proud of her accomplishment getting to this milestone. The first 5 years of any business are hard but to add to the challenge Melanie took over the store at the tail end of Covid, and not long after came the extended state road project that severely affected businesses along this main route in town for such a long time. Our block alone was closed for months during what would have been the busiest season for us. Yet, Melanie, in coordination with suppliers and amazing delivery folks, figured out ways to have those special products and grocery deliveries done every week. As a woman business owner I have deep admiration for her and her accomplishment as I understand the kind of hard work this has required. She and her girls are smart, creative, fun, hard-working, kind and generous. A joy to know and share with! We invite you to join us in wishing them a happy anniversary today! We stand in solidarity with the economic blackout (link in the comment section for you to learn some details about it), and

On Friday, February 28th
We will be away from all social media.
We won't be able to process Credit cards, Debit Cards OR electronic payments.
AND
On this day, we will only take CASH and Checks. You will get a 2.6% Discount at the register.

We encourage you to intentionally support small businesses in your community that align with your values. Use cash!

There are quite a few studies online that highlight the importance of keeping your CASH (not credit card payments) locally and of shopping at places that are locally owned and managed.

A customer just let me know that folks were asking on a public forum what stores in town carried greeting cards for special occasions.
For 11+ years we have carried a huge carefully curated selection of greeting cards (at 740 Jennings Ave, next to the health food store) and we keep switching and adding to the offerings.

We invite you to stop by in person or to explore our inventory online. If you go to our website (link below), choose "Cards & Stationery" from the top Menu and then on the left side of the page, the itemized menu for Cards will appear with the sections listed below. Explore at your leisure. You can shop online and choose 'Pick Up' if you want us to have your cards ready for you at the shop when you stop by, or have us ship them to you --some folks buy a good assortment of cards for the year all at once.

And tell others about our selection if you like what we offer. It is hard to believe that in such a small town people are still unfamiliar with some of the old businesses but we understand that life gets busy. That's why we like to offer the option of online browsing and shopping to save you time when trying to find what you are looking for.
