700+ BACKPACKS WENT HOME WITH HOUSTON KIDS. ❤️

We planned for 500. Southwest Houston had other plans.

On Saturday, August 8, Wash Bodega and Reach One 713 welcomed families for a Back-to-School Backpack Drive & Free Wash Day on W Bellfort.

By noon, more than 700 backpacks had been distributed, our machines had completed more than 600 free wash-and-dry cycles, and families had arrived from more than 80 ZIP codes.

Eleven partners backed the morning. Volunteers moved boxes, managed tables, helped families and kept everything moving. Parents left with clean clothes. Children left with backpacks. Neighbors showed up for one another.

Thank you to Reach One 713, AI Impact Foundation, Costco, our community partners, volunteers and every family that joined us.

Wash Bodega is not just located in Southwest Houston. We are part of Southwest Houston.

El sábado 8 de agosto, Wash Bodega y Reach One 713 recibieron a familias para un evento de regreso a clases con mochilas y lavado gratis en W Bellfort.

Antes del mediodía, se habían entregado más de 700 mochilas, nuestras máquinas habían completado más de 600 ciclos gratuitos de lavado y secado, y habían llegado familias de más de 80 códigos postales.

Gracias a nuestros 11 aliados, a todos los voluntarios y a cada familia que compartió la mañana con nosotros.

On Saturday, August 8, we saw what is possible when an entire community comes together. ❤️

Wash Bodega and Reach One 713 welcomed families from across Houston for our Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway and Free Wash Day in Southwest Houston.

We are incredibly grateful to Reach One 713, Costco, our sponsors, vendors, volunteers, Wash Bodega team members, and every neighbor who contributed time, supplies, donations, resources, or encouragement. Every contribution helped make this day possible.

This event was about much more than giving away backpacks or providing free laundry. It was about creating a place where families felt welcomed, supported, and connected to their community.

We will be sharing more photographs, videos, community stories, partner spotlights, verified impact results, and information about what comes next throughout the week.
