To everyone who has reached out, prayed for me, checked on me, shared my story, or simply sat with me in my pain… thank you. Truly. The love and support y’all have shown me during the hardest season of my life has meant more than words could ever explain.
And to anybody out there grieving… please hear me when I say this: it is okay to cry. It is okay to break down. It is okay to feel angry, lost, numb, exhausted, or sad. Grief is not weakness. Grief is love with nowhere to go.
Some days you’re going to smile on the outside while hurting deeply on the inside. Some days you may not even recognize yourself anymore. That does not make you broken. That makes you human.
Stop trying to rush your healing for people who are uncomfortable with your pain. Cry if you need to. Scream if you need to. Sit in silence if you need to. Losing someone you love changes you forever, and there is no timeline on learning how to live with that kind of loss.
I’m learning that strength is not pretending to be okay. Real strength is waking up every day and choosing to keep going even when your heart is heavy.
So if you’re grieving right now, give yourself grace. Be gentle with yourself. And please know you are not alone. ❤️
