24 years ago this week, Joe and I put everything we had on the line to start our small business and what a ride it has been. I am simply amazed it has been 24 years. I am thankful. I am grateful. I am humbled.
I have had the pleasure to work with some of the most wonderful people throughout my career with this company. To begin with, I am honored to have the staff we have now. They are loyal, they love what they do and they love me. Our clients, well I don't know if there are enough adjectives to explain. I do know they trust us which is the best compliment an owner can ever get.
In the beginning I remember a sales rep calling on our company. You know getting to know the lines of what we sell, know the sales reps that we buy from, etc. We were talking and I told him how we started. He made mention of a similar story and told me that so many people forget how they got to be where they are and in his opinion, those are the most apt to fail. I've never forgotten that conversation.
I remember from where I come. I remember the one's who helped us in the beginning, both financially, spiritually and even now, 24 years later we still work with some of those companies. We are who we are because of you and I truly believe it.
Things will be changing in the next couple of years. I, as one of the owners, want to move towards more of just an administrative position, managing this fantastic company that has grown substantially over the past 2-3 years only because of the fantastic sales representatives we have and our inside support team. I cannot thank you enough team. I love each and every one of you.
A succession plan will be in place. Scoville Specialties is not going anywhere, any time soon.
