Jesus is recorded to have often started his statements with “truly I tell you” or “very truly I tell you.” What’s interesting about this is the original language used has direct ties to the word “amen,” the word we say at the end of a prayer. But most of us probably don’t know the meaning. Both what Jesus said and what we say at the end of prayers means “let it be so” or “it is so.” This is reminiscent of in Genesis when it says “and it was so.” All that to say, Jesus spoke the truth of His words before He ever said them, much like how God spoke creation into existence, and we can take that same power in our prayers. God wants us to pray, wants us to ask Him to fulfill needs, and He wants us to believe in those prayers. The next time you say amen, think about what you are saying and say it knowing the power that one, simple word holds.

God is.

That is, in essence, what YAHWEH means, “God is.” God is the reason for existence. Without God, nothing is. Today, find peace in remembering that God’s got it, whatever this “it” is for you, God is in control. It’s not up to us to keep the world spinning. Let’s all work on letting go of things we have no control over and letting God do His work. He will do it. God is.

After the people saw the sign Jesus performed, they began to say, “Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.” Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.
‭‭John‬ ‭6‬:‭14‬-‭15‬

Jesus did not come to rule as a king on earth. He came to do the will of His Father. Had He simply ruled on earth and been people’s savior from kingdoms or other physical things, we would not have been spiritually redeemed. Eternal life with God would not be an option. By not giving the people what they wanted, Jesus gave them and all future people something so much greater! Remember to trust God’s plan over what you think is best or should happen. His ways are better every single time.

God has divine rule and he alone has power over all. But He has placed things in our care. How are you stewarding what he has given you? We can all always work to better live out God’s calling on our lives and in that better steward what He has placed in our care.

Every day is a new day. Every day you have the chance to start new. Don’t let the anxieties of the past or future disrupt today. Stay present, tomorrow will worry about itself. Our provision is found in God not man. With that said, what are you going to give over to God today?🕊️

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

All along God had a plan to save us. He did not let our failures be the end. He sent his son to die for us so that we would not be condemned. He gave us a way to have relationship with him even though he is so high above us. He still has a plan. Whatever you are going through, it is so much better to give it to God. He is in control, let him be in control.🩶

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
