Hi friends! It's been a long time since I've posted! We had a pretty rough winter here, with a lot of sickness and some sadness, and I haven't had much energy to keep up with posts or to do as much crafting as I'd like so far this year.

I'M GOING TO STOP TAKING COMMISSIONS AND CUSTOM PROJECTS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE- at least for the next few months. I need to take some time to focus all my craft energy on personal projects, passion projects, and sewing for my family until I get my "sew-jo" back!

If you're already on my list for a commission, I will be doing my best to get in touch soon, and to finish those projects up this month. If you don't hear from me and you're expecting a project that we've already discussed, please let me know- I don't want anyone to slip through the cracks! If you're a personal friend of mine and you have a special project even after this month (especially if I owe you a project because I had to bail on something over the winter) please do reach out anyway- some "friend" projects are "passion" projects to me!

I spent much of the last few months working on my biggest sewing commitment EVER- helping out as a costume mistress for Huntington Dance Theatre as they prepared for this year's rendition of 💂‍♀️!

It was a lot of taking in, embellishing, hemming, finishing, letting out, repairing, tacking, re-imagining, altering, serging, mending, making from scratch, and blinging out! It's been a great education and an honor to work alongside the passion and experience of great directors and other volunteers, and to carry on the amazing work of the skilled seamstresses who have created and worked on these costumes in the past. It was such fun to work on such beautiful costumes for such talented, gorgeous, and hard-working dancers, and I love that I get to see it all come together on stage this weekend!

There is one more show, tomorrow at 2pm, and tickets are nearly sold out! You don't want to miss it!

Happy Small Business Saturday!!!

I hope your holiday season is going well and that you've had plenty to be thankful for this week!

I am closing out my online retail store so that I can make room in my sewing room, and focus more of my time on custom sewing commissions in the future!

Hey friends!! I'm going to be at my final market* this Friday, and all dresses, shirts, and pants will be on sale 50% off to clear out my inventory! Our AMAZING local library Gallaher Village Public Library is having their annual book sale along with a night market with some local vendors! Please stop by to buy some books, shop for holidays, support local businesses, and say hi!

*Don't worry, I'll still be taking commissions, starting back in January, I just won't be doing markets anymore!

My amazing oldest niece turned 11 this summer (back in June 🫣)! I gave her the option to design her own outfit for me to make, and I was really excited when she took that option!

She sent me her idea and then helped pick out fabric (one of my favorite faux denim prints from ) and talked designs to make it come together! I used the essential tank pattern from and the (retired) Skipper Skort from for the bottoms. I made the shirt with sparkly vinyl and a removable Velcro front so she could add patches or other velcro things after her birthday (I had hoped to make a whole patch alphabet to go with it but almost a half a year later that hasn't happened yet... Maybe for Christmas 😂).

Anyway, she's my favorite 11-year-old and I loved working with her to make something so fun and cute (just like her)!

Munchlax: the Big Eater Pokemon!

This is the other half of the twin Pokemon costume set I made for a brother and sister on their first Halloween. See my last post for baby sister's Igglybuff costume!

I used the Go-To Jacket from as a base pattern for the hoodie and the Footie Leggings from .andtwig for the bottoms. I added some 3-D elements, changed up the cuffs, and added applique details to finish! The whole outfit is made with cotton Lycra jersey from to keep it stretchy for layering, but soft and breathable for a sweet baby.

I hope this little Munchlax enjoys his first Halloween!

Igglybuff: the Balloon Pokemon!

I was SO excited to get this commission for a sweet baby girl! She and her twin brother are both dressing up as Pokemon for their first Halloween (I'll post his costume in the next few days) and I really can't think of anything cuter 🥹.

I started with some pink footie leggings from in the 0-3 months size. The hoodie pattern is a modified "Go-To Jacket" from with some 3-D elements stuffed lightly with polyfill, and applique for the details! I used all cotton Lycra jersey from to make it light and breathable, so baby girl should be comfortable and have enough stretch to layer up if it's chilly!

I hope those babies have a (poke)BALL on their first Halloween, thank you for trusting me with your vision!

I made this satin royal blue dress for this year's Junior Miss Ohio River Festival back in May!

It's mostly self-drafted, with some help from the circle skirt generator! The back bow is removable and the hem of the pleated double circle skirt is lined with horsehair braid. It was certainly a learning experience and I'd like to play with more draped designs this winter, especially if I'll be sewing for more royalty in the future 🤩.

So much for catching up on posts a few weeks ago 😂

This is a gymnastics set I made for my oldest daughter's bestie, for her 5th birthday back in April! They met in tumbling class when they were 2 years old 🥹 and this makes 3 years in a row of making her a leotard for her birthday! Usually they get a matching set, but I haven't gotten around to making a matching one for my daughter yet 🫣.

I took these pictures in a rush right as we were leaving for the party, so they aren't the best 😅. The fabric is a foiled spandex (shiny!!) from 🩵. The leotard pattern is is Kids Bria Crossback from 🧵 paired with some Lucy Shorts from 🧜‍♀️(and I'm just remembering I want to make more of those for my girls 😂).

Anyway, these were fun to make, and eventually I'll make another matching set and the girls can twin for pictures 😂

I'm really pretty terrible at keeping up with social media when I'm busy- and I've been keeping very busy this year, with personal projects, commissions (thank you for the support!), birthday gift sewing, and life in general!

I have a few months' worth of pictures that I should catch up on posting soon, because we're starting our homeschool year tomorrow and the full slate of the kids' fall activities this week. So if you see a bunch of posts from me this week, don't worry, I'm just trying to catch up on media and messaging before I lose steam again 😂.

Here are the boppy pillow covers I made for myself and my sister-in-law back in April! We'd each been looking at the same few prints during nursing sessions across 4 babies, and I thought we deserved a change 😂. These are just cotton quilting fabric I've been holding onto for a while, cut to shape with an added gusset for the inside, and Velcro closures. They were a quick and satisfying make, with daily use 😁.
