I took the first photo before I baked this piece. During baking there must have been a hot spot and the left side and top browned. Especially disappointing was the fact that the dome burned. Given the unknown state of my oven, I didn’t want to add another layer of clay so I painted over the burns with Lumier acrylic paint. In the end, I actually like the final version better!
