Hey everyone!

Just like the post says, this isn't goodbye, it's more like see you later.

I know I've been on a loooooong hiatus from this account because of my recent pregnancy, but it's also been because I still have underlying self doubt and anxiety about fashion design, construction skills, and overall circularity of a garments life.

I still plan on having a fashion design business but its going to be a minute for me to figure out how to insert my values into my business.

But fear not lol. I will be starting a little side business called GeoBo Crystal Mystery Bags ( .crystal.bags ) where you order a bag and I fill it with random crystals and other trinkets! I've always wanted to open up a crystal shop and now is as a good a time to start 😁😁😁.

Thank you to everyone that has commented, liked, and shared my content through the years. I'll still be posting little updates here and there but if you would like to see some other content from me, definitely follow my crystal account.

I love you all and I can't wait to see you all again.

Let's celebrate the social and economical achievements of hard-working men and women as well as their contributions to keeping America running.

Collectively as conscious consumers and designers, we should strive to seek out wrongdoing within the fashion industry. This means to call them out for going against the compliances (within your means of course.) that were set up by activists to keep workers safe, healthy, and compensated for their labor. This goes for everyone from retail workers to garment workers.

Hey everyone!!! Here are a few red flags I see from the fashion industry on the internet!!!
I will try my best to separate the memes into the consumer and company perspectives to shed light on the issues on both sides.
I hope you enjoy viewing these as much as I did making them!!
Always, always, ALWAYS check to see if there is a sustainability page or at least a product description when a brand claims to be sustainable. Large companies use this as a ploy to lure uninformed consumers into buying their products. Always do your own research into the company and what they are actually using.
Mega hauls 1)promote overconsumption and 2) devalue the time and effort it takes into producing garments. For those that don't know what a haul is they are pieces of content like a video or a post showcasing massive amounts of clothing bought to be worn a few times and then tossed when they are out of trend. Understand that buying what is accessible to you is not a crime, just don't fall into the "What is on-trend?" trap that big fast fashion brands like to trick their consumers with. There have been attempts to rebel against mega hauls with things like thrift hauls and anti hauls but their effectiveness can be debated.

Plant-based dye is something that I feel I haven't really touched on when it comes to garment production, besides indigo dyes.
Poisonous toxins from synthetic dyes pollute the water supply and can harm garment factory workers if exposed to the chemicals. This can lead to birth defects and death to overexposure. There are many factors that need to be considered when planning a color palette for a collection and just focusing on dyes won't solve everything that can be wrong with pollution but starting with what materials are used to make dyes can be a good first step. As well as water consumption when it comes to making dyes because that is also an issue in the fashion industry.
I am excited to learn as much as I can about plant-based dyes and their effects on people and the environment. I'm definitely lean towards nice, warm palettes.
In honor of Pride Month, I thought it would be nice to show plant-based dyes in all of the colors of the rainbow. One day, I hope to contribute more to the lgbtqia+ community and become a better ally! If you liked this post give it a double tap and a little pride flag 🏳️‍🌈!!!

Having a capsule is an essential tool I use when I am putting together my wardrobe!
Due to what was accessible at the time and not having a clear view of what my own personal style was, I felt like I could never truly express myself. I felt like I could never when at fashion no matter how much I bought or how much I was trying to blend in with trendy society. And no matter how much I bought. it could not stand the test of time due to its quality.
After much revaluation of myself, my style, and many amazing (and scary) documentaries on the impacts of fast fashion and overconsumption, I was able to see my situation for what it was and pivot to something that rebelled against the fast fashion industry and that catered (for the most part ) to my personal style.
Essentially, a capsule wardrobe is a limited collection of garments that can serve as a daily guide for creating outfits or as a compartmentalized group if garments that serve a specific purpose (ex. Work outfits, weekend getaways, dinner with friends, etc.). Capsules are versatile, make a statement, and also one of a kind!

Sometimes, I compare myself to other designers and creatives, not gonna lie, it makes me feel a bit down. Lately, I have been having a serious case of imposter syndrome and I haven't been able to get things done.
Recently, I have been trying to step out of my comfort zone and try new things. I've stopped and taken a breath. I've stopped to remember why I wanted to be a fashion designer in the first place.
I'm trying not to compare myself to other brands and start looking to them for inspiration. I know this road to starting my sustainable brand isn't going to be easy but I look forward to all things that I'll learn and the people I'll meet!!!

Hey guys! I just wanted to show off my super cute, super amazing packaging from (not sponsored lol)
Ecoeclose supplies businesses with recycled, recyclable, compostable, and eco-friendly packaging. Right now I am enjoying my recycled poly mailers in ivory and the limited edition Earth Day poly mailer. I am also using the 100% recycled Kraft tissue paper and eco-friendly stickers as fillers and cute gifts.
