In uncertain times, I am always reminded that I can do what I can with what I have, and one thing I have and I do really well is tee shirts. I designed this shirt with the food insecurity crisis at the top of my mind. As our country faces the worst food crisis ever at a time when everyone is already stretched thin by stagnant wages and inflation, I have created this shirt to both share a message (as most of my shirts do!) and to give to an organization making a huge impact on hunger in Central Indiana.

On a personal note, over the last year and a half. I have become even more enamored with the work of this organization because my very best friend (who also worked with me for over two years at Stomping Ground), works there. And so I am honored to be able to support her and her co-workers work there in this way.

Personally, I have been doing a pantry box delivery every month for this organization to another local org and it has truly changed my view even more on how much of an immediate impact their work has on our community.

So I am honored to say, $10 from each shirt will go to SECOND HELPINGS. Second Helpings rescues food, prepares it and delivers it to local non-profits and other organizations for free. They served over 5,800 meals A DAY in September before the food crisis are are stepping up in November to meet the need by expanding warehouse space and doing all they can to bolster their volunteer workforce to meet the needs of the looming SNAP benefit reduction crisis. Let’s give them a hand. Each purchase will provide about 5 meals! Find the link in the bio to order, too!

For those of you local to downtown Indy, you can use code PORCHPICKUP and skip the shipping fees to pick your shirt up at .

Gearing up for the Bloomington Handmade Market next weekend and in the face of the food crisis our country is facing, I just launched a new shirt on my website this morning which will be available in person first at the event.

I was honored to spend some time today at to celebrate their 25th Anniversary. The Sunday Afternoon Housewife brand has been available at Silver in the City since June 2013- I can’t believe that’s 12 years! And in that time Kristin and I also had a few pop up shops in Carmel together among other small business adventures, she’s been a mentor whether she knows it or not and inspired me in so many ways but most especially to be a better advocate and activist. I am so thankful to exist in this city at the same time as Kristin Kohn and Silver in the City. ❤️ I don’t know where Sunday Afternoon Housewife would be today without her!

The Indiana Legislature is threatening to dissolve Indianapolis Public Schools and as a proud public school parent and graduate I am not going to sit idly by on this one. January in Indiana is always like a gut punch by our state. We want to live as our authentic selves, raise our children how we choose and be healthy and the Republican state representatives in Indiana do their best every session to wreck us. We won’t back down on this fight. Join me Monday at to write post cards to our state representatives and tell them to !

Back at today where everyone I have talked to has been so thankful for the messages tee shirts express. We have had tears, hugs, and lots of conversations about what’s next- or the uncertainty of what’s next. What I have been saying to folks I will continue saying here: support small businesses if you like them, find your people and be in community with them, and don’t give up. I’m so honored after all these years to be here still being supported by you. Thank you!
