As I was packing this little guy last night, it occurred to me that we are going into THE season! Historically my sales double over the next several months. I already can’t keep fall/Halloween items in my booth or my eBay store. This was my smallest sale yesterday in terms of both size and dollar amount but it’s the one that made me smile!

Thomas has left the building. He is a vintage toy box. Bought him for $9 and then Pat spent a few bucks adding the missing seat. Sold him for $100 which is actually a really good price. I sold him on Marketplace. eBay would have brought more money but Thomas is a heavy m**o. I didn’t really want to ship him. The best part was that the lady who bought him has an autistic son who is in love with Thomas. She knew how much these go for on eBay and was so excited to get her son one for a decent price. She had been looking for one. Made me happy that he was so excited. 😊

Here are some better pictures of the 1930’s refrigerator with a couple before pics at the end. I listed it today. Prices are all over the place on them. I think this turned out well and we even got the shelves re-chromed so I landed it in the middle at $1795 and open to offers. I’m not expecting a fast sale. Honestly, if I had space for it, I would keep it. Pat did so much work on this. I think he enjoyed it though. 😊

Seeing things in a whole new light!
This week I started a new PART TIME nursing position. It’s a bit scary since my husband had to retire early due to his health. I promised myself at the beginning of the year that I would make more time for my business and for life. While this page is new, my reselling journey is not. What is fairly new is my husband’s involvement. He was a full fledged workaholic and being forced to retire was hard for him. This has given him so much purpose. With him, I started buying storage units. I enjoy our days together more than anything. Cleaning out a storage unit is work but he makes it fun. He never flinches when I tell him there’s an auction 120 miles away. We truly enjoy all of it.
Now, I did keep a PRN position so I could supplement my income. It will make me less anxious about the slow times in reselling.
One of the best parts of nursing is the flexibility. I have been everything from a PRN Princess to a crazy woman working 3 jobs during a pandemic. Looking forward to this next chapter.

Talk about a glow up! Pat bought this at auction for $2. He put COUNTLESS hours into fixing it up. He hand sanded it, used a little bondo in some spots that had seen some things and painted it. The only thing he sent out were the racks. Those were beyond challenging. The best part is that it works! Freezes ice in the icebox and keeps a safe temp in the fridge part. Amazing to me that a refrigerator that is close to 100 years old still works. Now to find this beauty a new home.

Made a run to Indy yesterday to pick up some auction items. Got lots of vintage apothecary jars and this beautiful Kennedy rocker. On the way back, we stopped at Goodwill and picked up this antique chair. The fabric is in great condition but the wood could use some work. For $15, couldn’t leave it behind. The Kennedy rocker is in amazing condition.

Haven’t been able to get a storage unit for a price that doesn’t feel too high lately. Pat and I went over to our own unit and realized we still had a lot of boxes from units we hadn’t gone through. Now we’ve vowed to not buy a unit until we process what we have. Found this box of kid’s toys. Anyone notice what’s in here? I feel like this box was from the bad kid in Toy Story. 🧨🧯🚒🔥
