Happy Birthday to one of our amazing alumnae!! 🥰🎉 Desiree 🤗

🎉 WHERE ARE THEY NOW? | Happy Birthday, Desiree! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating not only another year of life but a beautiful testimony of God’s redeeming power.

Desiree has now been out of Mercy Gate for 2 years and is celebrating an incredible 6 years of sobriety! What an amazing milestone and a living testimony that freedom is possible through Christ.

When Desiree reflects on where she is today, her heart is full of gratitude. She shared that her family has come back into her life, and she is surrounded by people who genuinely love and support her. She said there isn’t even a second thought about wanting to pick up dope anymore because she’s completely done with that life.

She also shared something so powerful: “I’ve never known what life was until now.” Today, she’s learning and growing to love herself in every area of her life. She’s especially seeing God transform her relationships with the younger people He has placed around her each day. The life she’s living today is the very life she dreamed about as a little girl, and she said, “I’m proud of me.” Those words carry the weight of years of perseverance, healing, and choosing obedience one day at a time.

She doesn’t pretend the journey has been easy, but she knows it has been worth every step. Through God’s faithfulness, Desiree now has a place of her own that she has worked incredibly hard to build and maintain. She is committed to continuing to provide a safe and stable home for herself, her daughter, and her family.

God has also opened the door for her to serve as the House Manager at Hill Country Signs of Hope, a role she absolutely loves. She shared how much she loves her clients and considers this opportunity such a blessing. She is deeply grateful for Ms. Connie and the entire team for believing in her and giving her the opportunity to serve.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful parts of her testimony is where she finds herself spiritually today. Desiree shared that God is positioning her in a place she’s never been before. While it can feel unfamiliar and even a little scary, she knows He will never lead her somewhere He won’t walk beside her. She trusts Him completely because she has seen His faithfulness time and time again. Even now, He is continuing to heal her heart and prepare her for everything He has ahead.

Desiree, we are so incredibly proud of you. Watching God restore your life has been one of the greatest privileges. Your perseverance, your humility, your servant’s heart, and your unwavering commitment to keep choosing Jesus continue to inspire everyone around you. You are proof that redemption is real, restoration is possible, and God truly makes all things new.

Thank you for allowing the Lord to write such a beautiful story with your life. We love you so much, and it is an honor to celebrate all He has done—and all He is still doing.

💙 A Birthday Prayer,

Lord,

Today we thank You for the precious gift of Desiree’s life. Thank You for every victory, every healed wound, every restored relationship, every closed door to the past, and every new beginning You’ve given her. Thank You for six years of sobriety, for sustaining her through every difficult season, and for showing her that true life is found in You.

As she begins another year, continue to strengthen her, protect her, and establish the work of her hands. Bless her home, her daughter, her family, and the ministry You’ve entrusted to her through serving others. Continue healing every place in her heart and lead her into even greater freedom, joy, and purpose.

Your Word declares in Esther 4:14, “Who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Lord, we believe You have positioned Desiree exactly where she is for such a time as this. Continue to use her testimony to bring hope to the hopeless, courage to those still fighting, and faith to those wondering if change is possible. May her life continue to reflect Your goodness and Your glory.

We pray this next year is filled with favor, divine appointments, abundant peace, overflowing joy, and blessings beyond anything she could imagine. Continue to remind her every day just how deeply she is loved by You.

Happy Birthday, Desiree! We love you beyond words, we are unbelievably proud of you, and we cannot wait to watch God continue unfolding the beautiful plans He has for your life. ❤️🎉

📢 Mercy Mercantile Pop-Up Shop Update

In light of the recent flood disaster, we have made the decision not to continue with Mercy Mercantile’s Pop-Up Shop scheduled for July 23 & July 24.

While we were looking forward to seeing each of you, we believe this is the best decision as our focus shifts to supporting our community during this time.

Rather than hosting the pop-up shop, we are looking forward to volunteering our time where the needs are greatest and continuing to serve our community in meaningful ways.

Please join us in lifting up all those who are navigating difficult times. We are praying for comfort, strength, healing, and hope for every individual and family impacted.

Thank you for your understanding, your continued support of Mercy Mercantile, and for standing with us as we seek to love and serve our community well. ❤️

✨Mercy Gate: Where Are They Now?
| Mandi’s Story ✝️

Where was I?

Lost and alone—but I didn’t even know it.

I came to Mercy Gate wanting to stop drinking, using drugs, and hurting my family. I thought I was a good person; I just wanted the consequences of my choices to change. Deep inside, I desperately wanted what was in my heart to come alive through my actions. I just didn’t know how to make that happen.

As time went on, God began revealing the truth about who I was. I realized the person I thought I was wasn’t who I truly was. I didn’t know I was angry. I didn’t know I was bitter. Everyone else could see it, but they didn’t put me in front of a mirror and point out everything wrong with me. Instead, they pointed me toward Jesus.

They taught me how to follow Him instead of my own desires. God placed the right people in my life to show me the way—not just by their words, but by their actions.

I didn’t know how to dream because, for so long, everything centered around me. God spoke to my heart one day and said, “Mandi, Mandi, Mandi.” At first, I thought, “That’s a little rude.” But the truth was, He was right. My feelings and emotions were at the center of everything. I was always focused on not being loved enough.

Through Jesus, I have learned what it means to love and not just be loved. It’s not easy. I’ve learned that when I think everything is wrong, gratitude comes from my heart and not just my mouth.

Life with my family today is beyond anything I ever dreamed of. I go home often, and I am invited. I am present. I am available. My emotions no longer control the room.

Today, I am a recovery coach and manage a discipleship house. It feels like being in the school of love, where everything God has taught me gets put into practice. Do I fail? Yes. But many of the women I encounter are exactly who I was. They don’t just need to be told the way—they need someone willing to walk with them and show them the way.

The greatest thing I have that no one can take away is my relationship with Jesus. He is the One I run to with my heartache and the One I celebrate every victory with.

The Lord is showing me what He can do with a surrendered heart. He continues to reveal my heart and motives, reminding me there is always more room to grow.

I am not governed by demons anymore. I have one right in this world: the right to choose. Each day I get to choose Him or choose the world. And He is gracious to lead me in the right direction.

I’m still waiting on the miracle of my precious Canon being fully healed. I’m praying for a husband who loves Jesus more than life itself.

Am I where I want to be? No.

But I surely am not where I was.

Who I was? I don’t know.

She’s dead.

Who I am?

Princess Cobbington.
Daughter of the Most High King.

🦋MercyGate: Where Are They Now? |
Lacie’s Story✝️

When I graduated from Mercy Gate Ministries, I never could have imagined all that God had in store.

Recovery didn’t end at graduation—it was only the beginning.

Today, I have the incredible privilege of serving as Direct Care Staff at Mercy Gate, walking alongside women who are beginning the same journey that forever changed my life. Being able to remind them that freedom is possible is one of my greatest joys.

God has restored so much in my life. He has strengthened my marriage, reunited and restored my family, and continues to teach me what it means to trust Him daily.

This past year hasn’t been without challenges, but I’ve learned that God’s faithfulness isn’t measured by the absence of hardship—it’s revealed in His presence through it.

God wastes nothing. Every broken piece of my story has become part of someone else’s hope.

I will always be grateful for Mercy Gate Ministries. It wasn’t just a place where I found recovery—it was where I encountered Jesus in a life-changing way, discovered who He created me to be, and learned how to truly live in freedom.

✨Every story is a reminder that healing is possible, freedom is real, and God’s work continues long after women leave MercyGate Ministries.✨
