• Taken in along the sides for a flawless, sculpted fit

• Hemmed all around, including removing the train — the bride wanted a clean, even length for the reception
• Added invisible loops at the waist to securely attach an overskirt with a train for the ceremony
• The overskirt was also taken in at the waist for a perfect fit and finished with hooks for secure attachment

This beautiful custom-made wedding dress was ordered from overseas, but unfortunately, even though it was made to measure, it arrived too small. On top of that, the buttons along the back were unevenly spaced, creating an inconsistent look.

To fix this, I carefully opened all the lace layers on the back and expanded the dress to fit her perfectly. I also added and repositioned buttons to ensure even spacing and a clean, straight line all the way down.

Now the dress not only fits beautifully, but the back looks elegant, balanced, and exactly how it should have been from

• Bodice taken in at the sides — working with fully beaded lace is especially challenging, as every bead and motif must be removed, adjusted, and re-applied to maintain the original pattern and symmetry
• Dress shortened — another complex step due to the beaded lace appliqués, requiring careful repositioning to preserve the hem design
• Custom add-on skirt integration — lace appliqués were added to the overskirt so it blends seamlessly into the gown’s original design
• Attachment hooks added to securely connect the add-on skirt
• Multiple-point bustle added, designed to support the train while keeping the lace and layers beautifully displayed
