From my recent Quilting with Jackie Quilting Camp in Texas, from which I just returned, I have 5 leftover t-shirts, brand new/never worn, that I'd like to sell. Pictures are attached. This a description of each one. If you are interested in purchasing, please let me know, call or email me and we will figure out how to get the one you like to you. They are fun, fun, fun! They have been reported to run a tad small. Also, my apologies if you get this email twice.

The Wild Rivers Quilt Guild cordially invites you to join us on our Westlund coach chartered bus trip to the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show in Madison, Wisconsin, on Saturday, September 7, 2024. Tickets are $90 and include the ticket to the show and some snacks and water on the bus. Your ticket purchase must be received by Monday, August 12th; no refunds after August 12th - although you can transfer it to another person. Make checks payable to Wild Rivers Quilt Guild and mail to:

Below is the trip's itinerary:

Itinerary:

#1 - Gather and park at 6:15 at 1st Lutheran Church at 1210 S. Stephenson Avenue, Iron Mountain, MI - next to Slumberland Furniture (just east/behind the VA Hospital and Dominoes)

#2 - Leave at 6:30 am

#3 - Stop at Kwik Trip in Green Bay or Appleton for bathroom/food/refreshment purchases - 30 mins to 45 max.

#4 - Arrive Madison about 10:45

#5 - Depart Show at 4:30 pm

#6 - Stop somewhere for dinner around Appleton area - TBD

#7 - Arrive back in Iron Mountain about 9:30 pm

The Wild Rivers Quilt Guild would like to invite all area Quilters to join us for our upcoming meeting on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, beginning promptly at 5:30 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Florence, Wisconsin, 900 Central Avenue, intersection of US 2 and 101 at the west end of Florence.

Civil War Era Quilts: The period before and during the war between the states was one of the most turbulent in American history. Quilts made before and during the war years are evidence of the impact on daily living. Allison Rainboth, has a strong interest in antique and vintage quilts. She is an AQS Certified Appraiser of Quilts and Quilted Textiles and is also a NACQJ Certified Quilt Show Judge. Allison will discuss the changes in fabrics, patterns, and quilting designs using quilt examples from her collection of battered beauties – we will view these civil war quilts over 100 years old and learn some history too! On Wednesday, May 29th, Allison will be appraising quilts. There are just a few spots left in her Quilt Appraisal schedule – contact us by email at [email protected] to schedule an appointment for having your beautifully new or old quilt appraised to learn its true value. There is a $50 for her appraisal services and you will receive a certified appraisal form that you can use to have your quilt properly insured through your homeowner’s insurance if you so desire. We are expecting a great turnout and a wonderful program. Please join us for an evening of antique civil war quilts and history. I'm participating in Marshfield Great Strides! You can help me make a difference by making a donation on my behalf. My granddaughter was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a lung and nutirion absorption disorder, but it doing fabulously today because of research breakthroughs accomplished through donations. Will you help me make a difference for Hannah and all persons living with CF. Thank you!

Wild Rivers Quilt Guild has a great Presenter on Tuesday, May 23 at 5:30 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Florence, Wisconsin. WENDY AHNEN is a quilt artist from the Eagle River Area. She will leads us through her quilting journey from Muralist to Quilt Artist and will show us many of her amazing art quilts.

On Thursday, she will lead a hands-on workshop from 10 am to 2:30 pm and guide us through the making of a small still life art quilt piece with her methods. Members price is $25 / non-members $35, includes the pattern; she has a kit with all fabric and supplies included for an additional $20. If you would like to attend, submit the appropriate fee, checks made payable to Wild Rivers Quilt Guild and mail to Wild Rivers Quilt Guild at PO Box 502, Florence, WI 54121. Should be a wonderful evening and a great workshop.
