Repurposed Fashion! So lil back story on this little number...it WAS my fave MAXI dress with two side slits until one sad night a couple years ago when I was riding my bike home from a restaurant (bar) and the bottom got stuck in the spokes! I was stuck in the middle of the road and had to phone a friend to cut me out! This dress made it through every Closet Raid™️ as I just knew it would have an afterlife! The perfect outfit for when you are feeling optimistic about the sun coming out but it’s chilly when you get dressed!! 1) a one-piece bathing suit that looks like a bodysuit, a kimono (longer the better), and denim shorts! It’s all about being prepared for Mother Nature!! Wear this combo for when you are finally invited to a BBQ again this summer!

Attended my cousin’s virtual baby shower last night! Everyone wore blue to celebrate her having a baby boy! I paired my navy top with a faux leather skirt (as an incentive to shave my legs in cold rainy quarantine! ) I completed my look with my “fancy” platform for the occasion!

One of my companies BlackStrap is repurposing the excess fabrics from our production for protective masks. The program is called Civil Mask and they will donate 10% of the product to people at need. If you know anyone who may need masks for their staff, construction workers, food service etc please DM me for more details. They are 100% US made and turn time is 2 days. Fully washable. So my mom called me this week to tell me my favorite drag racing driver from when I was a kid had died. HER name was Bunny Burkett. She was a professional alcohol funny car driver. I got this shirt in 4th grade and it always made the cut in my own Closet Raid™️! Growing up in Atco, I would go to the drag strip with my dad a lot as a kid and would get super excited at the national events when would come to town! I think the biggest reason she became my fave driver (besides my dad of course) was because she was the only female driver I got to see and she held her own against the male drivers. This week I read up on her career and it was pretty badass. She competed mostly against men and even won a National Title! So it seemed only right to get out my Bunny Burkett tee to honor her! and thank you for showing me as a little girl how to compete with the boys:) ❤️
