Living Blue Apparel

Living Blue Apparel A Veteran owned company founded by first responders for law enforcement and everyone living blue.

Our officers live by a "service over self" philosophy, working tirelessly to ensure the safety and security we all deserve. But this commitment often takes a heavy physical, mental, and emotional toll.

It is time we remind our protectors that they are seen, heard, and deeply valued.

Our new "U Matter" design—part of our Horses & Heroes collection—celebrates the unique, life-changing bond between horses and our responders. When words fail, horses remind them that they truly matter.

What an honor it was for Veronica and me to support Sheriff Bianco and his run to be California’s next governor at this special fundraising reception.

We were grateful for the opportunity to auction off a Living Blue Apparel gift box and connect with so many incredible people who came out to support and pray for the Sheriff and his family and the journey they are on. It’s always inspiring to spend time with a leader whose strong faith guides everything he does.

This event was yet another wonderful reminder that we are all part of a larger blue family.

Horses & Heroes Collection

Trust is the foundation upon which all else is built, and it takes time to establish. Both feel safer staying with their own. Both possess a hypervigilant, finely tuned fight-or-flight response, constantly scanning their environments for threats. Both go to extraordinary lengths to ensure survival—yet those very survival tactics often leave them misunderstood by the outside world. Working with them isn't about forcing our perspective; it’s about understanding theirs.

After reading these traits, ask yourself: Do they describe a horse, or a first responder?

It’s hard to tell, because both share the same mechanisms to ensure they live to see another day.

The first-responder health and wellness space is filled with good intentions, endless slogans, and public service campaigns—all noble efforts to swing the pendulum toward better care for those who sacrifice so much for us. But true healing requires something deeper than a slogan.

That is why Living Blue Apparel’s new design line, Horses and Heroes, was born.

Inspired by the profound mirror these animals hold up to our protectors, this collection celebrates horses as the perfect partners to help our heroes find genuine healing and growth. Through Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)—an experiential, ground-based, and solution-oriented therapy—first responders are finding a truly safe space to process trauma and navigate life's toughest challenges.

As Eagala Certified Professionals, Living Blue Apparel founders Jason and Veronica Palamara have witnessed firsthand the transformative power horses and EAP have on processing job-related trauma. This profound connection is the heartbeat behind the Horses and Heroes collection.

Matthew is a proud follower of Christ, a husband, and a father to five incredible kids. His life has been shaped by a calling to serve—first through the military, inspired by his father’s example, and then through eighteen years in law enforcement. Matthew also served twenty years in the military reserves and will be retiring from military service in October of this year. Throughout it all, he’s held a deep belief in treating people equally, regardless of rank, title, or background.

During his service, he experienced the loss of his best friend and cousin to su***de after returning home from deployment overseas. That moment changed how he saw the world and deepened his understanding of the unseen battles many carry. In law enforcement, he came face to face with the weight of human pain, often carrying it home and feeling the distance it created in his relationships and his faith.

Through his own journey of seeking help, he found that healing is possible and that there is real hope for those who serve. Matthew felt God leading him to create something that brings people together, which led to the founding of Brave. Brave exists for those who have selflessly given parts of themselves in service to others. His mission is to build community, restore unity, and remind those who serve that they are not alone.

Matthew, thank you for all you have done and continue to do.

Being called to serve goes beyond the uniform. Scott Medlin served in the USMCR from 2001–2007 as a radio operator. Activated twice for Operation Iraqi Freedom, he found himself in situations where service to the Marine to his left and right was paramount.

Following his time in the Marines, Scott went on to a nearly fifteen-year career as a police officer. While the job was something he felt very much called to do, especially during his time on the K9 Unit, he learned that who we are as people holds more long-term value than what we do.

After having to leave law enforcement for family reasons, Scott began speaking across the country on mindset and habits to help combat mental health struggles. But he also realized his desire to continue serving in another way and opened iSmash Stuart (https://ismashusa.com/locations/fl-stuart/), an entertainment venue where people can de-stress and have fun through axe throwing, rage rooms, and glow-in-the-dark splatter paint rooms.

Scott's message is to keep walking in faith and service.

Scott, thank you for all you have done and continue to do.

Eric Golnick's path from military service to national advocacy is defined by a simple but powerful conviction: wellness isn't a program. It's a commitment.

Eric served as a Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) in the U.S. Navy from 2008 to 2012, reaching the rank of Lieutenant before transitioning into senior defense policy work as an Acting Division Chief and Senior Defense Policy Analyst with the U.S. Department of Defense.

After leaving federal service, Eric channeled that experience into the private sector. He co-founded Forge Health, a behavioral health company built specifically to serve veterans and first responders, providing the culturally competent mental health care this community actually needs and will use. He currently serves as Principal of Deep Current Strategies, a production and consulting company that contracts with the VA and private entities to develop educational and film content showcasing the services and resources the VA provides. Deep Current also consults with larger private healthcare organizations looking to build out their networks to better incorporate VA services for veterans.

But his most personal work may be what he does voluntarily. In 2025, Eric co-founded the National Association for Veteran and First Responder Wellness (NAVFRW), an organization dedicated to improving the total health of veterans and first responders through regional summits, evidence-based education, and cross-sector partnerships. He's also a published contributor on national security and a long-standing member of both the American Legion and DAV.

Whether in a boardroom, on a policy panel, or building coalitions between healthcare systems and first responder agencies, Eric Golnick remains committed to one mission: making sure those who serve get the support they've earned.

Eric, thank you for all you have done and continue to do.

Dr. Theresa Larson — affectionately known as "Dr. T" — is a leading expert and advocate for well-being and longevity, both in life and at work. She is the author of, Warrior: A Memoir and founder of Movement Rx where she and her team help leaders and organizations optimize physical and mental health for sustainable, lasting performance.

A former Marine Corps engineer officer who overcame severe personal trauma — and dared to ask for help — Dr. T draws from both research and lived experience to guide others through adversity. As a healthcare provider and CEO, she brings a distinctive approach to leadership development, teaching leaders how to dial in what she calls their human performance intelligence — the ability to optimize cognitive and physical performance in the demands of daily life.

Her mission, alongside her team, is to equip veterans, business leaders, and entrepreneurs to tackle challenges like client attrition, employee retention, and scalability — issues that are often rooted in compromised well-being. Central to everything she does is her Choose Your Hard philosophy: growth is hard. Healing is hard. Leadership and change are hard. But so is staying stuck. You get to choose.

Dr. T and her team are dedicated to helping organizations build resilient, healthy, high-performing cultures — where people don't just survive, they thrive.

It’s impossible to experience an Eagala Networking Weekend and not leave transformed.

The amazing staff at Pal-O-Mine Equestrian continues to impress. With their beautiful grounds as our backdrop, Veronica Pal and I connected with so many Eagala professionals with the same shared goal; to continue our own growth journeys and explore ways to share the healing power of horses through Equine Assisted Psychotherapy with others.

Veronica and I were honored to participate in a panel discussion where we talked about our experience as Veterans and our journey as Eagala Trained Professionals.

Stay tuned for something big between Living Blue Apparel and Pal-O-Mine for our law enforcement families!
