We are pleased to introduce our new pastor, Pastor Mike Helmick, and his family! They will join our Church family mid-December.

Pastor Mike was born and raised in Dover, PA. He grew up going to church with his grandparents, but did not make the connection until high school, when he was invited to an after school youth group. After two years, he went to Creation Festival in June of 2004, where he officially received Jesus as his Lord and Savior. That same week, he felt God calling him to ministry. He would wrestle with this call for a few more years. In 2008, after going down a dark road, Mike’s friend invited him visit a college in Arkansas, where God radically changed his life. He refocused, and in
2009, started attending classes at that school, Ecclesia College. During that time, he met the woman who would become his wife.
They were engaged in April of 2011, and married in December of that year.

While at college, Mike met a professor who was also the pastor of Radiant Life Church. After attending that church for a few months, he started teaching the youth Sunday School class and volunteering in children’s church. The Pastor asked Mike to be the youth pastor. After much prayer, Mike accepted the position where he served for ten years. Mike has worked in almost every area of the church, including leading services and preaching on Sunday mornings.

Outside of church, Mike was a school bus driver for 8 years and has spent the last three years working as a registration associate in the emergency room.

Mike is currently ordained through the Full Gospel Evangelistic Association. He has an associate’s degree in Biblical studies from Ecclesia College, plus has taken 2 years of study through Southern New Hampshire University in Healthcare Administration. He is continuing his studies to receive a bachelor’s degree in divinity and has plans to pursue further education.

Mike's wife, Lucinda (Lu) was born in Nassau, Bahamas. She attended Ecclesia College. She played on the basketball team for the college, but also enjoys other sports. Lu has a bachelor’s in psychology and a minor in
sports management. She received Jesus in 2009, and served alongside Mike in youth ministry for the entire ten years. She has also assisted in different outreaches and ministries within the church.

The Helmicks have two sons, Nehemiah, aged 4 and Ezekiel, aged 1.

It has been an exciting weekend for the youth at State Youth Convention! We are so thankful for the extra hour of sleep tonight!
