Making My Own Wedding Dress
Part 1 | The Vision 🤍

Before there was a pattern or a single stitch… there was an idea.

When I got engaged I knew I wanted to make my own wedding dress.

Trying to figure out what I really wanted though was a challenge.
I had to think through every detail:
The silhouette, colors, proportions, fabric type, movement, and like a hundred other elements to make it all come together.

This was the beginning.

Over the next few parts, I’m taking you through the entire process of designing and making my wedding dress from scratch.
The first idea to the final stitch.

For now, you’ll only get pieces of the story. The finished dress is staying a secret just a little longer. 👰‍♀️🤫

Here’s a simple pattern correction using slash-and-spread and dart manipulation.

By removing the excess at the neckline and transferring that intake into the bust dart, you create a neckline that lays flatter while maintaining the garment’s original fit.
