I almost can’t believe Chasing Butterflies has been part of my life for nearly 10 years. 🦋🤍
Whether you’ve been here since the beginning, haven’t shopped with me in a while, or you’re just finding this little corner of Jacksonville, hi, I’m Mary!
I’m a Jacksonville, NC native, wife of 27 years, mom, animal lover, and Gaga to two little boys who are my whole world. When I’m not working or in the boutique, I’m usually spending time with my family, traveling, visiting Disney or Universal, or enjoying a beautiful day on the boat.
Chasing Butterflies started in the fall of 2016. Those crazy, fun leggings are what first caught my attention 🤣 but what really changed everything was trying on an Amelia dress.
I remember looking in the mirror and feeling like a million bucks.
I had struggled with my own self esteem, so that moment meant more to me than just finding a dress I liked. I knew what it felt like to look at something and immediately think, “That wouldn’t look good on me.”
That day I felt confident, and I remember thinking, I want other women to feel this too.
Almost 10 years later, that is still the heart behind Chasing Butterflies.
My favorite moments are when someone tells me, “I’m too old for that,” “That’s not my style,” or “I could never wear that,” and then agrees to try it anyway. A few minutes later she walks out of the dressing room smiling at herself in the mirror. 🥹
That never gets old.
And if you haven’t shopped with us in a while, you might be surprised by how much has changed! We’re definitely not just leggings and tunics anymore. 😂 We have everyday basics, athleisure, dresses, sweaters, rompers, pants, cardigans, pajamas and so much more in sizes XXS to 3X.
You can buy clothes just about anywhere, but when you shop with me I want you to have someone in your corner. Someone who will help you find the right size, put pieces together, encourage you to try something you might not normally choose for yourself, and hopefully help you leave feeling a little more confident than when you came in. 🤍
