This was a fun new experiment the client trusted me with. The task was to take his Kobe highs and convert them into a mid. He wasn’t too fond of the height and always thought a mid/low would be a better look. I can’t argue. He sent me a video of this being done and asked if I could replicate. I have never attempted this but was up for the challenge, as long as he was OK with me messing them up ha, and was very pleased with the result. Looks like I’m going to have to look a little deeper into this whole retail customization avenue.

This custom 1 of 1 handmade sneaker is officially finished and on its way to its new home. This was a fun project honoring the Alma Mater of the client and his time as a student athlete. Although the overall design and color blocking was “simple” in the world of customization, this project tested my limits and capabilities to the fullest. I’m partial to clean aesthetics and design over something that’s in your face, so this was one of my favorite builds to date.
No detail was left untouched from the offset swoosh and heel tab, custom heel and tongue graphics, a hidden tongue tag paying homage to the team mentality as well as custom engraved lasting boards with the universities history of logos. Some details will remain hidden from photographs as these Easter eggs are meant for the client and those who were there.
