There’s a rush of emotion in realizing that today marks 25 years since the attacks. Although many of our children and grandchildren are too young to remember, we will never forget. Do you remember where you were when you heard the news? We do, and in that shared memory, there continues to be unity and strength.
Earlier today, at the 9/11 Memorial plaza, families of victims gathered to read aloud the names of the 2,983 men, women, and children killed in the September 11, 2001 attacks and February 26, 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Six moments of silence marked when each World Trade Center tower was struck and when they fell, the attack at the Pentagon, and the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 here in our home state of Pennsylvania. A seventh moment of silence honoring those lost to 9/11 health effects is also being observed.
Our hearts are with those families today, and our gratitude knows no bounds. In tribute to their loved ones, American flags at all Dempsey locations are flying at half-staff.
God bless America.
