Hi there! Welcome to Symmetree. We are Skye and Jackson, a young couple living on the Northern Coast of Oregon. Although we haven’t always lived here. Skye grew up in Hood River, OR; while Jackson has spent most of his life on the east coast in Florida. You might be wondering how we ended up together here in this beautiful place. Well, after briefly meeting during a photoshoot we quickly decided that it would be a good idea to move into a tiny van together and travel the U.S. Kinda crazy idea, right?! To everyone’s disbelief, that decision turned out to be the start of something truly amazing. Fast forward a two years, trading the van for an RV and now to an old school bus, a ton of amazing adventures and here we are today, living in a circular house overlooking the ocean in Oregon.
The name Symmetree is a name that has been in the family for some time. Beginning with my father in the 1970's, crafting wood toys and fine art pieces, followed by his eclectic home furnishings stores in New England.
Symmetree came back to life as a way for us to continue our passion for pursuing creative ideas without having to sacrifice our life outdoors here on the coast. We work as a team to create all of the artwork used for our apparel. The first step in our process is to get outside and find inspiration. Lots of inspiration… Whether we’re hiking up the coastline or enjoying a sunset surf, gathering inspiration for our art is definitely one of the best parts of this line of work! Once we have a direction, we can then move onto drawing the actual piece, this usually starts on a blank piece of paper and ends up as a digital file. The art then moves into the screen printing phase, which we do all ourselves in our studio! We are super proud of the fact that we actually lay down the ink on each and every piece of gear that we send out to you guys!
