Sick days give me so much time to reflect and be still. This past week was huge for our family and we can’t wait to share more— the timing of this flu hitting our home? Not today, Satan! Can’t keep Team Dressler down.

Yahweh Tree Farm… you are SO CLOSE!

Our family decided at the beginning of Lent, that we would do better at praying together every night before we went to bed. So we all gathered in Capri’s room, and Tim would start. And guess what we ended up praying for… every night…

Yahweh Tree Farm.

There has been this build up, or crescendo happening these past few months, and I can’t help but believe that these prayers— our family together every night— has changed something.

There’s so much more to this post that I’m waiting to share, but the timing is happening! There may be land for us. And God has been refining, refining, refining our family for SUCH A TIME AS THIS.

The month of May has always been my favorite— Mother’s Day and our wedding anniversary all happen this month! And to think that maaaaaaybe, we find Yahweh Tree Farm this month, or know our next steps— GO, GOD!!

And you better believe our family has continued to meet every night in Capri’s room to pray, even though Easter has come and gone. It has changed us in so many ways. Prayer is powerful, friends! And don’t be afraid to pray those bold prayers! Say them in FAITH, knowing that in God’s perfect way, He will answer them!

My bold prayer on Saturday night? God, show us a clear sign, like crystal clear, what our next step is for Yahweh tree farm. Send us an Angel, a person at a grocery store, a phone call— make it so clear we can’t ignore it even with all the wonderful sounds of kids around us 😅

And yeah, there may have just been a text message…

It’s happening 🥹 This cutie showed all the readiness to start reading (the most important being, HE’S EXCITED!) and I just couldn’t be more proud!

Going from a high school English teacher to a homeschool mom teaching her kids how to read 😅, well— there was a lot of insecurity I had to fight! But you know what I constantly go back to?

I know these kids’ hearts, and their hearts will always be the most important thing to nurture.

For such a time as this! Let’s do this, buddy! And to quote Jaxon, “I’m going to be the best reader in the whole world!” Love his passion 👏

It’s a long story, but here’s the lesson— if our family didn’t take a huge leap of faith almost three years ago—this girl wouldn’t be here.

That hits me hard!

It’s changed my life, really. I’m more afraid to say no to those desires God has placed on my heart, because I don’t want to miss out on anything as great as this girl!

Sorta poured out my heart about homeschool in stories today 😅 If you know me, you know I’m a passionate person and I will share what I love! Homeschool unexpectedly became something I LOVE, and I sorta think more people should do it 😂 Really, though. Don’t let fear talk you out of this one if it’s something on your heart. It has been the BIGGEST BLESSING to our home!

Here’s how I want to wrap up the convos I’m having in DM’s today and my stories— it starts with figuring out what it looks like to be a FAMILY TEAM! What’s important to YOUR family? Your homeschool days should reflect your family’s mission and vision; it all goes together!

Lastly, homeschool is hard, yes, and every good thing is, but it shouldn’t make us feel anxious or stressed! When I began to feel these emotions I finally stopped what we were doing and got still with God, and asked— what do my kids need? What does this family need? I was craving simple rhythms that brought peace and joy to our home, where each person played an important role. For a long time I put it all on my shoulders— didn’t last very long that way 😅

Anywho, I’m no expert, but I am passionate about the home and family (and now homeschool!) so if I can be of any help or can pray for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Happy Palm Sunday🌴 and the beginning of Holy Week (the week leading up to Easter). Let’s snuggle our kids extra long before they go to bed every night this week and remind them how much Jesus loves them! I don’t know what I would do without His love and grace covering me every day as a mom! JESUS LOVES YOU!

These boys are inseparable 💚 The fruit of working as a family team is seen so well through their relationship. I ask them often— “When we build our house on Yahweh Tree Farm, do you want your own room or keep sharing?” And always the answer, usually in unison, is— “SHARE!”

It’s one of my biggest prayers that their friendship last forever, that they are each other’s biggest cheerleader and support through life! Go, God! Go, Theo and Jaxon!
