The HOME.SEWN Story--

Alyssa and Jessie have been pals for a LONG long LONG long TIME. So what's our story and what makes us awesome? Alyssa, after receiving a bachelor's degree in apparel design, and after many summers of washing broadway underwear, serving peanuts on airplanes, and serving sh*tty beers to college kids- decided that it was time to take a new approach to life. Jessie, on the other hand, had begun the hearty task of being a mom (the best mom + a worker of multiple jobs) and was looking for a new way to explore her creativity. After Alyssa's mom had given her an unbelievable gift of locally produced, discarded fabric from various textile mills around central North Carolina, Alyssa + Jessie began to brainstorm the HOME.SEWN concept. WE WANTED TO HELP STOP WASTE AND REVIVE THE LOST ART OF SOUTHERN AMERICAN TEXTILE ART. So we set off to do so- various home goods were produced, tears were shed and fingers were cut/burned, but there was laughter and enjoyment throughout the entire process. That was over 4 years ago- so much has changed since then. We have expanded tremendously, found our niche, and have started popping up in small shops across the country.

We are so proud of our acheivements and failures - without them we could not have become who and what we are today. So, thank you. Thank you for supporting us.
