I am absolutely thrilled to FINALLY announce this exciting news! Thanks, It Has Pockets has partnered with local non-profit and creative re-use center, Scraps KC! Scraps has generously agreed to serve as a drop-off and pick-up location for local pocket orders. If you are local to the Kansas City metro area, you can place an order at www.pocketsthanks.com, and select "Local Pickup" instead of shipping, for just $5. 100% of the drop-off fee will go to Scraps KC to support their initiatives in helping the homeless community as well as working to prevent useable, creative materials from ending up in landfills.

Additionally, I (Madison!) will be teaching several classes at Scraps throughout the year on how to sew your very own pockets! My first class is coming up on May 22, and sign ups are open NOW! We have a very limited number of spots available for the class, so hurry and sign up if you want to participate. Lastly, I have started helping out in Scraps' textile department, where we sort, fold, and price all of the fabric that is donated to the center. There is an amazing team of volunteers that I work with, and it affords me access to a wonderful selection of re-purposed fabric to purchase and use for pockets. If you have ANY kind of sewing projects that you need materials for, I can't recommend enough that you come in to take a look at Scraps' selection. You will not be disappointed!

All of us have that one (or more!) ridiculously cozy pullover or hoodie that is a go to comfort piece. It doesn’t matter if you’re bumming it on the couch or throwing it on to go grocery shopping, nothing beats a cozy sweatshirt. Except maybe...a cozy sweatshirt WITH POCKETS 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Can we talk about jackets for a second? Is it just me or is it absolutely enraging when you find a jacket that for some reason doesn’t have pockets in it? Seriously, this is the one piece of clothing that, on principle, is meant to be functional and is **supposed** to have pockets. ⁠
