On August 15th 2026, I attended the Thorn & Rose Fae Ball at the C.A.S.T. Ballroom. This was a bit of a last-minute decision for me; I bought my ticket the Thursday before. I decided on the VIP ticket for $120, which included early entry at 6 pm, cocktail hour with one complimentary drink ticket, a seat at the Royal Night Feast, and a curated gift (notebook with feather pen and bag of various trinkets). I am so glad I did this! I had never been to the venue and didn’t know what to expect in a strip mall venue. Because of the location, parking was easy to get to, free, and great! Inside was very nicely decorated and looked well maintained. The space was much larger than I expected, with lots of great photo and seating spaces!
As a VIP ticket holder, we were brought to a separate room for the happy hour and feast.
The food was honestly so good. I do wish the menu had been posted for those with dietary restrictions, but I was very happy with my chicken and potatoes. The chocolate brownie/cake thing was also very good. There was a bread-and-dip appetizer on the table and a salad I didn’t try. I really loved having a plated sit-down dinner experience as part of the event. I thought the bar prices were very reasonable, with a nice variety of mixed drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I stuck with the white wine but would have loved a canned seltzer. My stomach can be sensitive to mixed drinks, so I like to keep it simple to be safe.
At 7 pm, the ballroom opened for General Admission ticket holders while we finished our feast. GA tickets were $70 and included hors d'oeuvres and a small gift bag with trinkets.
Throughout the night, there were various performances, a ballroom dancing class, and a costume contest! I loved the variety of music that was played to allow for formal ballroom dancing and fun party songs!
There were several vendors in attendance with tables lining the dance floor. I did a quick walk-through, but I don’t tend to buy anything at balls unless I can add it to my costume to wear, or it is something small that will fit in whatever bag or pocket I have with me.
All the attendees seemed to be having so much fun, and I always love to see what everyone wears! Overall, I had a fantastic time and hope to return next year!
