I cannot believe it’s already been a month since Victoria’s wedding day. Prepare to see this dress on repeat. 🤍
I can hardly explain what a gift it was to create this Custom Heirloom Gown for Victoria’s Reception. She is such a kind and talented lady, and dresses like this are what I dream about and love to make.
When she first reached out I was excited to create an heirloom dress for her, but as we began to talk about the bias cut style of gown she wanted, I knew pretty quickly her mother’s dress wouldn’t have the amount of satin needed. (Bias cut gowns require much more yardage than traditional.) But I also knew I was in love with her idea, so I instead suggested making her a custom gown out of a separately sourced satin and using lace and buttons from her mother’s skirt and hem. I am endlessly grateful she was open to this. And as a result she got a reception dress that her sister will be also able to wear one day, made with her mom’s lovely lace, that oozed with nonchalant elegance.
I’ll definitely gush endlessly in a blog post soon, but I couldn’t wait to share the preview photos she sent me just 2 days after her wedding day. The radiant joy on her face says it all.
