The Rustic Coop is officially closed.
It’s a moment I’ve had on my checklist for a few weeks but didn’t want to think about how I would feel.
Clicking that ‘deactivate’ button on my Shopify store was a relief yet brought me a wave of sadness.
On my way to work every single day I would think about how I wanted my own shop. My sister encouraged me so I went to Chris and asked to borrow $500 out of our savings account and gave a quick proposal of what I wanted to do. He didn’t hesitate and said ‘sure.’
Most times I didn’t know what I was doing but it was bringing me joy to make connections with ladies and ‘play with clothes.’
From my first photoshoot with Holli and Kaylee.
To professional photoshoots with Amy.
To selling 40 Hello Junk sweatshirts in an hour after DowntonAly posted a story wearing it.
Followed by Chris folding every sweatshirt while I packed.
To being asked to be inside RE in the West Bottoms and on the Plaza.
To bringing it all back in home and busting at the seams.
To lives with Holli and Torey.
To packing countless orders.
To selfie photo shoots in my driveway.
To hours spent searching for the right clothes to bring in.
To flopped Cactus tees.
To giving my office space to Pierson so he could have a playroom.
To still having a cardigan from my very first purchase still unsold the day I deactivated my store.
To making so many new friends.
Every ‘cha-ching,’ comment, like, share, and time you wore something purchased from my little shop – gave me SO much joy.
THANK YOU for the abundance of love and support you have all given myself and my family.
I am so proud of myself and bringing The Rustic Coop to life. And while I shed a few tears when I clicked that button, I am beyond excited for what is to come for my family.
It isn’t goodbye, it is see you later (maybe 6 months from now, maybe 6 years).
Xoxo,
Heather
